JFT HUD is designed on the pattern of F-18 Hornet HUD system which is a Dual Refractive Combiner system. In general performance, it is better than the F-16 HUD system. More precise and less jittery, both also look similar in dimensions.

I see.. i hope they are compareable in performance as well

differential stabilizers can be seen here...
sorry for the bad quality.

Hi, i have question for everyone.
I see JF-17 has like an F-16 air brake kind of thing near the stabilizer. If it is designed in such a way then how come we don't see it as brake use?

JF-17s air brakes system is different when compared to F-16. Here below pic will clear the question. JF-17 has 4 of these air brakes.

just to let u kno, these brakes are used in air mostly. F-16 and F-15 both use their bodies as a large air brake when they touch down on runway. watch all f-16 landings, the pilot will ALWAYS make it sit on the main for a good amount of time!

That is pretty small...
btw, what are the things in red and blue circles? Air brakes too?

To me, it looks like JFT has a total of 5 air brakes!

From SDF. Thanks to tphuang. KLJ-7 = 130km for a fighter sized target!

btw, this is from an interview by kanwa with PAF:
- JF-17 has fired off C-802A and hit a target more than 90 kms away (it has range of 180+ km)
- It launches two types of LS-6 SGBs. The 500 kg one has a range of 60 km with cep of 15 m. The 250 kg one has a range of 65 km with cep of 5.3 to 7.5 m
- The main medium range aam is SD-10A
- KLJ-7 has a range of 130 km vs fighter size target, can track 16 targets and engage 2 concurrently. These seem to be higher than the ones we see in air shows. Will have to see which modes these range and tracking numbers come from.
- block 1 of JF-17 did not have data link, which is really surprising for me
- all of the JF-17s are using Martin Baker seats

. .
Initially the blk 1 aircraft came without datalink but it has since been been added indigenously that is why you see a different set of communication antennas along with an undisclosed origin communication gear.
