They also tested it with WS-13 in later stages and had no issues with engine.

Any chances of finding WS-13(A) in coming batches? WS-13A (upgraded WS-13) with 100 kilonewtons of thrust??

Guys don't kill me if you have answered this question before but I need to know can JFT perform Night Operations like the latest F-16s can? If not JFT-I then can JFT-II or JFT-III would?

Questions:
Any chances of finding VTOL in block-III?
Would there be a block-IV?
There are lots f orders from various countries for JFT.. which block are those for?
In case of more ordres, will Pakistan sell its Block-I and only retain block-II onwards?
And like Mirage Landed on Motorways.. Can JFT do the same?
Block-I uses a parachute for landing. Will future blocks be independent of such landing or will they continue to employ those.
Will the future blocks of JFT be, less agile, more agile or would remain the same as block-I.
And finally.. when WS-13 would be used (with grater thrust to weight ratio), would it affect the range of aircraft?

there are rumours of a chinese 5th gen fighter-- however i highly doubt jft will ever be transformed into one.

Would there be a block-IV?
rumours of dual seat,strike/sead, modified front fuselage versions are present--- however avionics will be updated over the years--
maybe the next block will consist of 100 fighters if the paf is happy with the modifications..

lesser the wt / composites or greater the size of fighter with accompanied stronger engine
however the air refuellers help in increasing the range , as blk2 will come e probes

Would these modification increase the payload and hard points of the plane too? How would strengthening the undercarriage help?

On a side note, I really appreciate your posts and look forward to them every day....


A chin mounted pylon is likely, payload is likely to be increased from 8000 lbs, my assumption is about 500-1000 lb might be possible. Remember, it will have more powerful WS-13 instead of RD series. This is where Strengthening the undercarriage comes into equation, more load out, heavier plane.

Had a conversation with a friend on JFT's potential and why so much going on on it so early in its lifetime? He said PAF has followed the F-16 developments over decades that has proved to be the most flexible post 2nd world war fighter to date. JFT will follow similar or even more development in its lifespan as we are seeing from 3rd prototype onwards. I see it emerging as a tremendous asset for PAF and export users in years, decades to come considering the fact in mind that F-16 never turned into the Stealth arena, something JFT has already stepped in.

China does not want RD, they want everything indigenous so they are going for it. Whether PAF needs WS or not, depends on their requirement.

Initially i heard it will be a retractable probe, however it seems we might get the fixed one. Those rivets actually strengthen the airframe to be able to sustain 9Gs and high AOA in intense dog fight situations. Improvement is possible but overall frame finishing is as good as blk 52s as we witnessed in Zhuhai Airshow.

ive posted a pakdef pic of a probe a few pages earlier-- i dont know what kind of probe will be present in jft.. but i speculated it would be a retractable one atleast on the ''stealthy'' varient-- as fixed one increases rcs , as in the case of rafale fighters, in which fixed were built solely on the requirement of french airforce [dessault was against it]
