JF-17 Block III's proposed AESA Radar KLJ-7A

:o:pls explain

Image shown is of AESA, but if incase it was not AESA, then to move Antenna part of that Radar shown in the image would have been a headache. AESA needs a little more power than the old tech Mechanical radar, but those mechanical radars have an antenna of almost no weight as compared to the antenna shown in OP's images. so ultimately you end up needing power of so many power houses to run that radar in active mode. but good for us it's not mechanical but AESA so we don't need 10 JFTs to run this radar :-).

yaar, i DO NOT KNOW Chinese so i have to rely on them what they tell me, what they say is writted. Now i get the info that it says :
It says that the radar is an upgrade to the mechanically scanned radar KLJ-7 in current JF-17, with performances comparable to F-35's
Now anyone can divide this sentence in two parts. The first one in green is a technical statement. Confirming that is is an Upgraded KLJ-7. WE know that an upgraded KLJ-7 is a KLJ-A and NOT and AESA!! AESA will be a separate radar not an upgrade of a mechanically scanned array radar!!

The second part in red is a figurative speech, a judgement, a ruling. Not a technical issue/statement. This is just a comparison being made and one can CLAIM anything. Also if the claims is true it still is that the "performance" is comparable!! Again not that it is an AESA. If that the capabilities can be similiar and if that is possible in real may be it is a Mechanical Radar with comparable performance? (as per the claim and just for debate/discussions sake ONLY) THAT still do not makes it an AESA. Unless there is something written in Chinese that was not translated and mentioned in the original post by our Chinese friend.

This is the simple point i am trying to make. I hope you understand.

Regards!
To dispel your notion than a mechanically scanned array can't be upgraded to an AESA, I suggest you Google APG-63. Have a good day.

KLJ-7A :-)

How simple it will be.. just to click "English" and then take the picture... nothing to translate.. less burden..

+ those Cyber Experts✌️ Are forgetting that Zuhai airshow is professional and more realistic ( I'll say Platform) and if creators of this Radar are claiming it AESA.. then just tell me who are you smartasses claiming it mechanical radar or pesa or coconut...

Just appreciate it and discuss about features rather than classification..
You are nobody to classify it ✌️

The new radar backend is very compact, among the smallest I've seen.

By comparison, the following is the old backend:

The JF-17 nose section is large for its class, I feel that an IRST could plausibly fit with the new backend.

The Gripen NG has certainly managed it.

Well that's an opinion of an Indian...so it doesn't affect the reality. But the difference between China and India is that even if Chinese copy, they know their stuff and are able to do it successfully but you Indians fail and fail terribly...the classic example is Tejas
and by the way what Chinese do is technically called reverse engineering; a highly complicated and advance field in engineering.

Reminds me of a story. Two students went for an exam. One guy copied from the other, but the copier received the higher grades. How on the earth it's possible?? The copier was about to be sued. Like the way "I-" folks are doing in this thread, he was subjected to all sorts of verbal abuse. His Jevap: I also knew something...

Chinese in most of the Chinese defense forums are so happy of this wonderful news for our Pakistanis brothers, unfortunately when we brought this news here, we're met with doubts, most of all an Indian troll has been allowed to insult Chinese copy this copy that to have a trolling field day right here, thanks bros once again
And you think we are not? Forget the Indian losers. They are here for a purpose and that is to troll. Dont take them seriously.
