- Useless thread (The only useful information that this thread gives is that the numbers of JFT have reached XYZ while Tejas numbers are still XYZ).
-The projects of JFT and Thunder are not exactly comparable. For Pakistan JFT means a backbone that replaces a diverse array of assets with a mid tier 4th generation capability which is sanction proof and has the ability to deliver weapons of our choice.
-For IAF tejas is a move towards an indigenous asset, which will serve as a low tier of their airforce which has mature assets in Mirage 2000, Mig-29, SU-30 MKI and soon to be rafale. How does IAF conduct the replacement of a huge number of assets slated to be replaced, is yet to be seen. Plans have been changed before e.g. from 126 MMRCA to 30+ MMRCA (Rafales), or Tejas MK1 being limited and MK1A being worked on and to be inducted in numbers. So nothings for sure.
-As far as the whole debate of indigenous content is concerned, it is irrelevant to compare joint ventures and projects touted as indigenous from the outset, in terms of indigenization. However for Indian members that love bringing up the topic of "what was the Pakistani contribution in JFT" ... well lets see, we had inputs in design, the entire software for the JFT was written in Pakistan, many subsytems are either co-produced or produced in PAC for the JFT the list of which you can find on the PAC website. Pakistan in fact holds 58% of the rights of JF-17 airframe co-production work. Other than that PAC/PAF is involved in the marketing and other business activities of the JFT.
-Lastly, we all know what threads like these are ... a trolling fest. No one will agree which platform is better, we Pakistanis will say ours is better and give certain reasoning for it, while the Indians will say theirs is better and they will have some reasoning for it as well. An agreement is more or less an impossibility. The only thing that can definitively determine which asset is better is if both were to go head to head. Let's hope a situation like that doesn't occur, however for those who think that it's not a threat, well let's just say the JFT has gone toe to toe with assets such as the F-16 and certain flankers etc. and has more than held it's own. As it stands this jet can easily hold it's own against such fighter aircrafts, however once it gets integrated with certain weapons, you'll find that the jet most people across the border used to mock has become a very serious and real THREAT. So, I just request the Pakistani members to take it easy, relax and just enjoy the desperate attempts by trolls to convince no one except themselves what the "reality" is ....
