JF-17 Block II, A Final Thunder & The FC-20 - Updates

.
Aoa!
Dear I have some question in my mind and these can be some childish questions but i need answers of them.
1) Is there any future program to equipped JF17 with TVEngines?
2) Is there any possibility of super cruising with existing or with some modified design?
3) Is there STOL/VTOL variants can be upcoming in future?
4) Is it has the capability of air refueling(if yes is it retractable in future)?
5) Is there any news about redesigning JF17 with Composit materials like HAL LCA?
Thanks if some one can give me satisfied answers to me.

1- N ..they make the engine more complex and heavy -- not extensively advantagious in dogfights either

2- N [even gripen i think supercruises only in certain altitude and weather]

3- N
4- Y -- [eagle hannon said fixed in blk2, some say retractible]
5- Y [blk2 with slight frontal fuselage redesigning and more composites ]

1) TV engines would only be heavier and more expensive, although they give a maneuverability edge in dogfighting, the same can be done by a decent HDMS or JHMCS system and a decent sidewinder.
2) probably not! not enough known as of yet either.
3) STOL/VTOL are not needed.
4) block II
5) the amount of composites are going to be significantly increased for coming blocks.

we may even see WS-13 with greater thrust, more composites, IRST, longer range radar (AESA or PESA), SD-10 or SD-10B and RAM coating.

is there any undergoing program to redesign the stealthy Silent JF -17, just like americans F15 Silent Eagle.

JF-17 Thunders galore, Stealth ones now

Other than the simple fact that Beijing is investing $30 Billion in Pakistan in the next fie years. That amount is real with solid infrastructure development projects like dams, power-plants, freeways, and housing. To boot Beijing and Islamabad will now be jointly upgrading the Block 2 version of the JF-17 Thunders which have stealth capability, that knowledge recently boosted by studying the downed US chopper. After US sanction on Beijing and Islamabad, China and Pakistan began developing the relatively cheap multipurpose fighter in 1999 and Pakistan. Pakistan is planning to build 500 of these fighters, and keep 250 of them for itself. The rest will be exported. Pakistan already has two squadrons of the fighters–the second one inculcated earlier this year. A news report recently did mention that Pakistan’s production facilities have been boosted to allow the rapid production of the 50 fighters. The PAF will produce 50 fighters per year–though additional production lines are planned. The technology is also being used for a commercial aircraft manufacturing. Both the governments are keeping the information very close to their chests so as not to alarm Delhi and Washington.

The defense manufacturing is going beyond the basic JF-17 Thunders. Plans are already underway for the manufacture of the next generation of fighters, the FC-20s which will eventually become the mainstay of the PAF.

There are discussions going to for the Chinese JX fighter and how to include the stealth technology into the FC-20s.

JXX is 5th gen stealth fighter and FC-20 is the modernise version of J-10B designed specifically for PAF......Will have an AESA and other goodies...... and as the article reports stealth features frm the experience gained through JXX prog...... same goes for JF-17 Thunders later blocks.

Having some stealth features doesn't sound logical. An aircraft is either stealth or conventional one, there's nothing in between.

yes there is.... The J-10B will have AESA, DSI, IRST, an awesome ECM suite, more composites and maybe even RAM coating, making it stealthy, comparable to the RCS of Eurofighter or Rafale.

There is no such thing as stealth, just a measure of stealthy-ness
<0.1m2 RCs is considered stealth... e.g F-22, F-35, PAK FA and J-20
0.1-0.75m2 RCs is considered stealthy.... e.g Eurofighter, Rafale, F-18 SH

IF we can get the RCS lowered, it will better the FC-20s chances in BVR combat. Also helps make it an effective for striking.

Thanks ALLAH Pakistan Air Force is Getting Stronger and Stronger day by day , Every now and then there is a news About PAF Advancement in Technology . The stealth Tech is a great step Ahead We are Really Proud of Our PAF :pakistan:

thus the RAM coat which even EAGL hanna talked abt so thats gud even without major structural changes

well i think like tank destroyers in ww2 they had better gun but less protection so i think fc20 is going to be like a good destroyer but will sacrifice the protection !!!
