I understand this No cooling system directly goes to Antenna but HEA .... but for this what I was observing is that pipe seems not going to the compartment in the nose section behind the Radar Antenna where HEU for AESA cloud possibly be placed.

So the question is IF the said pipe is not attached with HEU than it is connected to which other component ..... ???

Keep in mind this arrangement is same as we have seen on JF-17 Bravo as well and in latest picture first time shows an unidentified component or LRU just below cockpit as shown in the below attached pic

my take on this is simple IF it is not HEU then there is a possibility of this component is part of new Environmental Control Unit (ECU) .... which in past was rumored to include OBOG as well

Without knowing too much about the JFT's airframe architecture, I can guess that hidden pipes may be linked to the air intake (one or the other). It would provide cold air enough to cool off the machine but without direct air pressure. It's not an uncommon arrangement, LANTRIN and other pods, in the early days when offered as part of the aircraft (F-14, 15, 18) used to have such indirect arrangement.

JF-17 could be the success that leads us to expecting miracles because we generally got it right this one time. PAF is the only airforce that manufactures its own aircraft via PAC. Is it realistic to expect that PAF by itself can create a whole top-notch industry? I don't think so. JF-17 taught us the value of partnering with someone & that should be the lesson learned here, not the notion that PAF can (or should) do it all. There is no aircraft that can do it all, & there is no organization that can be everything to everyone. Unless there is a partnership with own civvies and our international friends, there is precious little hope.

This is a very well balanced write up. And yes, I agree with you 100%. It's great that an air force is designing a jet for it's operational needs and per the latest industry specs and this one venture would be cost effective too, as it's being designed directly by the professionals who'd use it. However, there is no way this can create an "industry" beyond this one jet's future blocks or overtime, a similar jet with advanced features. If the goal is to increase throughput in economy through the military industrial complex, then, regular companies need to get involved. It seems as in Pakistan's case, all ventures that can otherwise create an open market and expand the economy, are narrowed down to military running them and thus, killing any options of a local industry to be born out of these ventures.

India has learned from the US about it. The HAL Tejas, the AMCA and the manufacturing of SU platforms, all have over 5000 civilian companies involved. Overtime, this will build an industrial base over the next 10-15 years like nothing else. There is no other country who has 5000 companies involved in direct advance jet design, build and manufacturing. This is how you grow your local economy base. These 5000 companies will overtime create hundreds or thousands of jobs. if the IAF or IAF was to limit these projects so ONLY they can build these, you won't have a future $ 100 billion (or more) worth of economy that would be created by these 5000 defense contractors in the future.

RD-93MA is the Russian baggage. Turkey offered Pakistan to rebuild the JF-17 with Aselsan's and TAI Avionics. TAI avionics and a Rolls-Royce engine will be more appealing to many foreign buyers. On top of that Denel A-Darter integration for Block III would be a great option.

Malaysia already said they have reservation about Russian engines. RD-93MA is the modified RD-33.

Malaysia should rethink its reservations. they are already using the Russian SU30MKMs...Russian engines are tough and reliable. rolls royce engines are prone to sanctions which makes them dead on arrival.

Russian engines may not be as sophisticated but not by much. and Russian engines aren't prone to sanctions. you would've never seen the Argentina deal happen if the JF17 had the rolls royce engines, uk would never allow it.

Jf-17 Block 3 being 4++ gen LCA cost only $ 30 mil comparing to other competing aircraft in same category. In addition to this, operating cost is also less.

Type of weaponry which can be integrated with the aircraft is another attraction. The aircraft is fit for all three roles ie air to air, air to ground and air to sea.

The current RD-93 is better in performance, having lesser downtime and emit very less smoke. Even than if customer want another engine, WS-13 is available option.

Malaysia is altogether a different case. Recent Chinese incursion, Blk 3 still not inducted in PAF, and the new political leadership which is more inclined to India are the most probable causes of of delay in final decision.

No one came back with info on internal fuel quantity increase in block 3 ???? But it was mentioned in one interview by amf chairman on defense day 2020 or 19

An ejection seat is not a weapon of mass destruction. There are international ethics as well that bound many countries.
Don't know which ejection seats F-16 had in the early 90s. But back then PAF pilots flew the jets with non functioning ejection seats. The Americans had sanctioned Pakistan and spares weren't available.

ACES II 0-0. I have seen live demo on Sargodha runway, when a fully loaded F-16 B hit a wild boar during TO phase. Both pilots ejected during TO phase safely. Even during the sanction period PAF managed to pitch 50% of total F-16 strength. Critical spares were being procured from other "sources".

What a stupid offer! Yes, a change to "Aselsan's and TAI Avionics" would be possible, but this would again cost time, money and even more would it be better or worth all delays and additional cost? ... but in the end these are hollow words only, since the Turks don't have a suitable engine, RR is not their engine and if RR would allow its integration is yet another question that even if would again add cost and time.

Also, why integrating Denel's A-Darter, if the PL-10 is enough?
