JHMCS is a product and belongs to HMD family. There are HMD's with targeting and then there is HMD that just displays flight Information.

the thing is we know nothing about the Chinese products because info is not avail. American systems are out of this world and are far far ahead of the Russian's but as we all know they are very expensive, I have seen the F-35 alien helmet and my god is it beautiful the things that you see are phenomenal.

JHMCS by the virtue of its popularity can be taken as a industry standard in HMDs. Its features include engagement with other aircraft with first-look first-shoot high off-boresight weapons, such as AIM-9X. Followed by night vision that allows the pilots to accurately cue the onboard weapons, sensors, and systems to target the hostile aircraft or ground targets without aggressively turning the aircraft and placing the targets in the HUD. Furthermore, critical information and symbology such as aircraft performance information, targetting cues can be displayed on the visor. The pilots in the twin seater (lets say F-16BM/D can independently use the JHMCS to target different bandits or perform different functions. Pakistan widely uses JHMCS in this domain.

The latest version known as JHMCS II can be integrated with a system known as Canary, a technology capable of identifying and warning prior to GLOC event and directs automatic aircraft recovery in case of the pilot loses consciousness. It has several other advancements such as better pilot comfort due to improved helmet center of gravity, 20 degree field of view etc.

There are several other alternatives to JHMCS such as Targo, DASH, and other European systems in the market. I cannot speak intelligently of the Chinese systems since Pakistan has not acquired any yet.

Seems like this model of wide angle HUD has become standard in all Chinese fighters/trainers.

The wide angle HUD in L-15 trainer is for export, while the one in JL-10 trainer for PLAAF is still the old version.

Indeed given the advancement and keeping up with current tech to train pilots for future conversion. I must say that its like Chinese are catching up fast.

The HUD is derived from J-20 HUD family and Block-III has the latest version. One wonders that who could be customer for such advance HUD displayed trainer like L-15? Surely, it has to be PLAAF at the start and then... will be only those who operates or tend to operate latest Gen Fighter A/Cs from China or to say like a bird being built in collaboration. Speculating.
