JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

more interesting comments "带着副油箱打空战。。。。。醉咯 -Fight with air in the auxiliary tank. . . . . Drunk"

A better translation would be: "Fighting air battle with an auxiliary fuel tank [still attached]... is he drunk?"

AFBO is where human element is non-exsistant or depreceated. Chinese are still away. BAE/thales & the usual suspect.....uuuuncle saam are intentfully collaborating developing a supersonic platform.
I meant that to develop a fly by wire (or as you stated, more appropriately today, fly by optics), for a pure delta, would be something difficult to do and be a technical challenge. In that case, it may perhaps help to look at the Mirage 2000's fly by wire system, or even the J-10s.

Thanks messiach always learn something new from you. While what you are saying is an interesting aspect of how to make a manned fighter more survivable, I think that a UCAV is also something that could be considered, and could get the best bang for the buck.

I think that a UCAV would and should be a different platform than a manned fighter / attack aircraft. Here is why: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/ucavs-the-future-of-air-warfare.86119/

UCAVs can be built far cheaper because they don't need the same shelf life - as no training is required. You could even start your engine venture with a UCAV engine, whose MTBO can be relatively low (only gets unpacked during a standoff and doesn't require training)

UCAVs are also expendible, creating a major problem for opponents, who have to face the danger of a UCAV swarm going Kamikaze.

Imagine a swarm of BVR shooting UCAVs, costing 5 million each, doesn't need training, doesn't need a pilot. Straight out of the box. How would that fundamentally change the dynamics of air warfare?

There was a scene in other movie parwaz hei junoon where aero dynamic capabilities of jf vs mirage 2k were discussed in a classroom which gives you idea about jf capabilities

It is said that the nose of JF-17 Block III looks like that:

Given how the original models of the F-60 jet turned into the J-31.. anything is possible....

China has both history and form, of releasing pictures of upcoming platforms through third parties, which then turn out to be true. This was also, in the case of the J20, where the shape of the aircraft was known for many many years before the J20 was unveiled.

China should start making dhoti's and sell them for extra cheap to India to make some more money, if the JF17 has been modified to have some light stealth shaping characteristics !!!!
