JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

. .
Brazil tried to hawk 24 Gripen E to Argentina, but quickly found out they were not allowed to sell. Argentina are not interested in something they cannot buy. They cannot afford to buy anyway.

As for Malaysia, this is what PAC has to say April this year.

We are aware of the potential requirements in Malaysia for cost-effective fighter aircraft,” the PAC official said. “There have been no serious talks but through government-to-government channels there have been what we can describe as primary level talks about the JF-17 program.”

If you are so desperate that you want to compare those two to official tenders, you are welcome.
you asked yourself show two countries interested in both gripen and jf-17? what is your point?

. .
People here do not understand the difference between being under production and operational. It will be in production by next year to be operational and deployed by 2021. There are a lot of issues post-production which are needed to be ironed out before an A/C can be certified as operational. New radar, means new integration issues, new navigation suite has the same implications so 2021 is not late.

. . .
I'm pretty sure that prototypes are either under testing or nearing the development. And first prototype may very well have made its maiden flight.
This is confirm news. It will be made public in 2019.

.
And I asked for a reason.
No country with an official tender has evaluated the JF-17 vs Gripen for good reasons.

Argentina is window shopping because they are not allowed to buy the aircraft they want,
and cannot afford even leftovers.

As I shown, there is nothing very substantial in any JF-17 interest from Malaysia.
An official statement from the Malaysian Government is called for.
Right now they do not have a tender.

You can now make whatever further pathetic excuses you want to ice your already bruised insecurities, the fact of the matter remains that the Gripen and the JF-17 are competitors.

.

Never happened, Never Will.
You on the other hand is making a Malaysian Hen out of a Malaysian Feather.

The point is that Gripen is a competitor to first rank fighters and JF-17 is not.
That is why you do not see both in the same tender.

.
Well that's upon the turning radius upon the plan the surface to air missiles are about
Mach 4

i know but sometimes you enemy didn't even give you a chance to turn, either flip or do something else.speed helps in some cases.

meteor or derby, doesn't matter. just give some speed and some space to turn.your missiles can easily be evaded.

.
All other blocks can be upgradable to block 3 standard so in a sense its already in public.

Yes they can be upgraded because JF-17 is a modular design but in full extend JF-17 is different as some feature cannot be upgraded.
