This was a patriotic general who made Pakistan proud by assisting the Muslims of Bosnia.

I would take his words into serious consideration.

Are we really lacking sovereignty? Is the USA still calling the shots?

I am a great lover of Pakistan and I try my utmost to defend the Pak Army.

Javed Nasir is also a patriotic man.

All that I want cleared is this bit of info.

Do you guys realise that this is how the TTP indoctrinates ppl? It tells ppl that our Army is slave of America...to fight TTP we need to come clear on our Army. Rebut with evidences plz. And plz don't cast aspersions on Javed Nasir's patriotism.

Yes I understand that we are successfully getting rid of terrorism in 2016 now but I am concerned for my country's sovereignty. I don't want my country to be mocked anymore by its enemies for being a 'slave' of USA. This is a big accusation of Indians and kharijites.

We need to rebut their arguments.

no this is not right... pakistan is a sovereign country... just few isolated incidents ( like drone attacks on daily basis, and those permeable sneaky terrorists ) cant threaten Pak's integrity...

Well, I wouldn't say slaves, I would use the term guns for hire, although that is pretty much our relationship with other countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, etc.

I think there is no problem in questioning our foreign policy is there. Especially after 60000 and by some estimates 80000 Pakistanis have been killed in the war on terror. We have failed to build an independent foreign policy and are suffering the consequences. US is now actively supporting our enemy India and offering them better F-16's than us. They signed a nuke deal with India right under our nose. As allies at least we should have tried to block this.

Questioning the role of our institutions is not treason but patriotism. Pakistan should be a free country. It suffered under the Presler Amendment already and US is again talking about sanctioning us. They also ignored Siachen and punished us for Kargil which was in response to Siachen, blatant aggression by India. US is no friend for us and we should acknowledge this as a fact.

slave is a small word. the world uses different words for our relations with USA. shiekh imran calls pak leadership as the prosti**e of the west. don't expect others to respect you when your leadership is one of the most corrupt in the world, your economy is based on foreign debts and your leadership (both military and civil with the exception of raheel sharif) never had the spine to stand up against the americans and the main reason why they do so is that with the american support they will stay in power for more time. i remember many of our politicians, think tanks saying on the media that " ham amreeka ko naraz nahi ker saktay". a retired general once defended the drone attacks inside pak and imran khan called him "bayghairat". with that kind of hierarchy what else you can expect? respect and glory?????

What kind of sovereignty is Pakistan practicing that allows US drones to attack its soil unmolested? That floods the country with US special forces and Blackwater contractors? And does nothing while US SEAL teams swoop in and take out OBL and then claiming ignorance?

In the case on who to blame for this mess -- the civilians or the military -- the answer is simple: both.

You mean recruiting terrorists from all over the world and training them to fight in Bosnia, from which they returned to cause trouble in their own countries?

IMHO, the general is little harsh on Paks. If Pak has been so accommodating to the USA, why're they so mad with her? Many of Pak's decisions may be sub-optimal vis-a-vis her interests, but one needs to judge that she's under existential threat from 7X larger India since her birth. Let's not forget that India's redemption lies in Pak's destruction. I have no doubt that the most of countries would've been long gone (e.g., BD) even under a miniscule fraction of such pressure. Pak has to satisfy numerous variables simultaneously. Given that some of the harshest geopolitical games since the end of WW2 have been being played with Pak taking a central stage she's doing fine...

The only muslim nation that its independent right now is Iran(and this is why they dont have internal problems). All other muslim countries have issues because America wants to create problems

I agree to an extent, but you have to face realities. Pakistan is a large poor country that can barely feed it's own people, and is sub-par for its size. It is pretty much always dependent on others.

You mean recruiting terrorists from all over the world and training them to fight in Bosnia, from which they returned to cause trouble in their own countries?

No, they went there to stop European women and children from being raped and murdered, something Nato couldn't do.
