Japan’s record trade deficit raises fresh DOUBTS about ABENOMICS !

AKG Q701. they're under $200 on Amazon. Best value for money imo. Even my girlfriend liked the design, eventhough it's made out of plastic.

Beyerdynamic dt880 250ohm version. Metal and German made. Price on Amazon can be low as $200 if you wait for right time.

Both have great sound quality, good clarity and wide soundstage, but low bass. it's also semi open so people can hear your music.

If you want closed back headphones so people can't hear your music but still produce great sound quality, then:

AKG K545. I bought for $220. people say it's risky buying this because there are lots of defective ones around. I was happy with mine.

NAD hp50. Sometime price go down to $260. Sound quality better than AKG k545. Was gona buy this but I hate the design.

If you want bass, but sound quality not as good as the ones above:

Beyerdynamic Custom pro One. Sometime price go down to $200 on Amazon.

Logitech UE 9000. Sometime price down to $260. But it's also Bluetooth so that's bonus. Very cool design.

Logitech UE 6000. I havent tried this, but people say it's nearly as good as the 9000 version but much cheaper and no bluetooth. $70.
AKG Q701 is a stylist design and good quality but I don't like the open air design. I like the close off because I don't want people to hear what I'm listening. This is very important for me.

Logitech UE 9000 is wireless. NAD hp50 is on the ear style. I like over the ear to cover full.

Look like AKG K545 fit the bill. Stylist, close design, over the ear. How is the sound quality? Review seems low. Can it beat the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Headphones ?

In my family, we all agree that buying Japanese brand items bring better ratio effective / cost, compare to Chinese low quality.

There is only two smartphone OS worth mentioning, Android and Apple. Android is the dominant player now. All top phones run Android. Apple is a niche market. It caters to a specific user that like Apple OS.

I'm looking for a new pair of Over the ear headphone, you got any recommendation? Budget is $100-200 but I'm willing to up to $400 if it worth it. I like over the ear style.

nope..........i have little to nil experience in over the ear stuff.........sorry.
I will not misguide anyone just to score some brownie points.

I mainly have experience in iem's.

Don't listen to Nihonjin1051. He keeps bragging about spending big money for "quality" products and look down on people who don't. But the truth is he does not know what quality is, he just buy whatever is popular like Apple and Beats, even though they are actually low quality junk. Apple I can understand if people like their OS , but Beats? hahaha.

I had a AKG Q701, which was good but I gave it to my girlfriend. Right now I think it's the best value for money.

I then had a setup Beyerdynamic dt880 600ohm with a Chinese tube amp (La figaro) and a nuforce DAC. For outdoor portable use, I had a AKG K545. They all cost me a fortune.

I have to sell them all because I'm a poor graduate student now. Plus I stop using headphones because it messes my hairstyle.

I want to get a good value IEM now when I have enough money.

Yup,,the amp is the problem when u want a decnt headphone.
Plus in public its a bit embarrasment.

Also i don't like big setups............i like compact stuff

That suck. I've been searching for the perfect headphone for a while now in my budget range. I have used a lot of headphones but none is perfect. ATH m50 is really good except it's ugly and build quality is not great.

K545 sound quality is good. Doesn't have nasty high treble like Q701. Soundstage and instrument separation is decent for a closed back (i. e. each instruments, vocal sound is distinct and not mushy like Beats studio). But not as good as Q701 or hp50.

The only thing I don't like is there are not enough bass when I listen to hip hop/rnb.

Oh and the built quality is not really that great. The hinges and headband are metal but the cup is plastic. I opened mine up because the socket was a bit loose and found out that the circuit board with the soldered socket was loosely screwed in on the plastic cup. If you buy it at a local store then it's OK cos you can check or return it easily. I bought mine online and wouldn't risk buying again because of hassle sending it back if faulty. And I read worst defective stories.

I liked it though and was happy with mine after a little fix.

The Logitech Ue 9000 comes with a wire to use if the Bluetooth battery die. it uses the normal 3.5mm jack. It's a Taiwanese company though if that's any issue lol.

Listen to this man, my friend @Nihonjin1051 !

Bose is shit. Fake bass, and overkill artificial sound. LOL

It's hard to go against dunu dn 2000 or hifiman re600. dunu dn2000 has massive positive review. One of the best perfect earphone right now.

K545 definitely sound better than ATH m50. M50 slightly more Base but higher annoying treble, I. e. V shape.

Soundstage on k545 is wider.

I consider Apple to be a niche market. They use different OS than everyone else. It is hard to judge. They dominate on the high-end market but overall they are limit in scale. It is like Ferrari dominate the high-end car market but they are limited in scale to the general automobile population.

Apple is fucked especially in developing countries,,,plus i hate a close os,,it just sucks.
I need something that i can control after rooting the phone,,,,,,,android

Its only a one time spend tho, my man. I actually have 2 Bose headphones; i have one that i bought back in 2005 (literally 9 years old) still works fine. My newest one was the one i bought back in 2009. Literally they work like new. Only reason i bought the 2nd one was ...well, i like to have 2 copies of things. LOL.
