Most car makers try to source locally as much as possible to reduce transport cost as well as import duty. Very few cars are imported to India in ckd.

In Haryana actually but India is Suzuki's most profitable market both in size as well as in market share. Do you really believe they would shut shop in India? Will never happen.

Yeah, imagine paying a 130% duty on Maruti cars....

I believe it was the Japanese ambassador pushing the Pakistanis towards closer economic ties with India suggesting that in the event of a free trade zone, there mat\y be such a possibility that might come about.

We will be really happy to see japs coming and setting up plants in Pakistan but not under current regime. Corrupt govt will kill their business faster than a bad workers union.
Our markets are flooded with Chinese goods which is good cost wise , you just have to be smart to find the no1 quality. Trading with Pakistan will allow some chinese goods get into india whilst indian goods wont be competitive unless they either cost the same or a less than the Chinese.

Thats not just suzuki,but its Maruti Suzuki. 49% maruti,51% japanese.

the competition in india is getting tough n will continue to do so in the future whereas in pakistan its a win win situation for the foreign companies bcoz of the incentives being offered n also becoz they dn t face a stiff competiton frm the local companies

They may shift out of india because of tough competition, but pakistan will be a last place on earth for any multinational to settle down in present scenario, I sincerely would like to see you people grow, but please improve your L&O situation first.

actually this a huge misconception about pakistan that L&N situation is not gud here ,well there are some areas or regions where this problem exists but not in the whole country n those areas kind of spoil the whole image of pakistan.
