You do realize that they can violate/change/alter their own constitution as and when they please. A Constitution is for internal governance - it is not a pledge to the United Nations or the world at large. In fact, Saudi Arabia does not even have a Constitution till date - Pakistan's own Constitution has barely even been adhered to. That specific clause was inserted by McArthur. Wake up, it is not the 1950s.

the article 9 is under close scrutiny

the japanese PM Abe is trying to obtain enough votes to facilitate an amendment to article 9 but not without oppositions:

let's see how it goes! japanese are also afraid of a militant government that could take them to war again!

then they violate article 9 looking for aggression!

Koreans and Russians have they own thinking. Make no mistake about those!

Does China cares about article 9? Japan has to draw a line too at some point. In any case its a good thing that Japan will try to counter balance Chinese power in the area. China is becoming too much of a bully lately.

of course!

This is not the early 20th century when there was a rising Japan and the world was recovering from a world war. Back then, it was much easier to convince a people that there was a national threat. Not so today. The Japanese of today is a much more sophisticated and aware people. They knew what their ancestors did and they do not want such a repeat in their own current generation. But that does not mean they are willing to be rolled over by China. Not when they have the US as an ally.

I do support a more assertive Japan in Asia and so do many other of us 'inferior' Asians. There will be cautionary opinions, to be sure, of Japan's militaristic past, but that history will be overshadowed by the current militaristic China that is threatening their sovereignties today. They WILL rally behind Japan. And once they do, it will be another sign of China's arrogance and miscalculation in Asia.

of course!

Background is just that, background. Sorry for any wrong Japanese did during their occupation, but that is past. Neither China nor the Japan are the same. We need to take it from here. If Japanese feel threatened by China, which many countries now do, then it has a right to defend itself.

This is good, now our government has a perfect excuse to ramp up our military infrastructure even more.

When people ask what our massive funding is for, we can say look across the pond, what do you think.

Japanese population is very low compared to China and GDP is relatively high, so Japanese can spend more on defence toys keeping their people happy. If Chinese start arms race it will be china's loss.

It is China that is causing problems all over Asia, If a War breaks out it is china's fault not other countries. Chinese are doing a favor to USA by making Japanese to adopt Imperial Japanese policies.

Nice ship!!!!
I hope they turn it into an Aircraft Carrier some day.

Woo~so many guys are accusing of China as if the the victims are always Japan. You guys will find whatever excuse to drag you down once we make progress. You put a democracy tag on your own country while beautifying NAZI crimes, definitely hypocritical~:laughcry:

Selectively Blindness. I can understand those jealous heart. Let's see how those guys get a feeling of superior while accusing of China.

Have you been trying to fully understand the Abe regime? It is the americans, japanese vietnamese indians pinoys et al who are portraying us as the wrong doers while we are just claiming our rights which are massively eroded due to illegal encroachment and occupation of the lands that belong to us

Take the Diaoyu Islands as an example. It is specified clearly in the Cairo and Potsdam Declarations respectively that after the japanese lost the world wars the islands have to be returned to China

The main points of the document were:
The Allies are not fighting Japan for their own territorial expansion.

The Allies are resolved to bring unrelenting military pressure against Japan until it agrees to unconditional surrender.

Japan shall be stripped of all islands she has seized or occupied in the Pacific since the beginning of World War I in 1914.

All the territories Japan has taken from China such as Manchuria (Dongbei), Formosa (Taiwan), and the Pescadores (Penghu), shall be restored to the Republic of China.

The Allies are determined that Korea shall become free and independent.

Japan will also be expelled from all other territories which she has taken by violence and greed.

How can the japanese thief appear as the victim getting "bullied" by the de facto victim in the eyes of the world?

Koreans and Russians have they own thinking. Make no mistake about those!

Koreans want them to build up more.times are changing fast.

Nope, just to China. All that sabre rattling makes for angry neighbours, none would shead a tear if the japanese teach you a lesson. You can't expect them to set idly while china builds up.

I want to see Romania to try to teach a nuclear armed country a lesson before Japan attempts it. :omghaha:

"Threatened countries" = Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, India, South Korea. Four of them have territorial disputes with China, and the Philippines claims have no legal standing. Its "sabre rattling" when China makes any moves, but if any of those countries send any military forces to seize the disputed areas its perfectlly okay.

Doesn't give a damn- all of the rest of asia.

It gets easy when you alienate all your neighbors.
