Japanese are smart and they forsee a good economic relationship with the fastest growing 100 million+ population economy in the world.
It is not a coincidence that they are massively ramping up the soft loans that they giving to BD both through bilateral organisations like JICA and Japanese-led multilateral ones like ADB.

BD-Japan ties are only going to get stronger into the future. Japan has always supported BD since independence and this will never be forgotten.

Regardless how he died, does not change the fact that he probably is among the greatest leader of all time. Mujib to Bangladeshis is what Jinnah is to Pakistanis or Mao to Chinese.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman does not belong to Bangladesh alone. He is the harbinger of freedom for all Bengalis. His Bengali nationalism is the new emergence of Bengali civilization and culture. Mujib is the hero of the Bengalis, in the past and in the times that are.

He was a great leader of Bangladesh, I don’t see any point of making his statue in Japan. It will be as meaningless as a Roosevelt statue in Dhaka.
