Its a common sense, project like this can not be on Ground, railway crossings, cattles , road traffic is huge issue in India should not a reason for train to get late and that too in such a high speed. I don,t have google to answer your question. Its a simple logic. + making easy target for evil forces to attack but why are you getting stressing yourself on this ?

Country like France runs its TGV through its plains covering large part of countryside on non elevated tracks. And you think there are no cows or animals there?

So does japan and other countries who run these HST on fortified tracks on the ground.

It is not mandatory to run a HST only on elevated tracks.

And many countries run them on ground level.
Now please do not come back and tell me they don't have a single straying animal, which can cause the disaster.

Yes, most countries in the world do.....including developed ones.

The specific fiscal constraints of India dictate a loan for such a project.

Its just a different way of structuring what is effectively an investment by Japan.

JICA is funding other projects too. however India would need to pay back and all engineering, eexecution and hardware will be Japanese. this will provide business opportunity to Japanese industry and hence win win for both nations.

yes. loan is one way of generating funding. other methods like Public Private Partnership (PPP) are also being used by IR.

They are not donating, it is a loan, we will return the amount with interest, unlike you people who plead america for a loan waiver, this trains will be operated by the Japanese company, and your rant about HSR (high speed rail) is laughable, as India operates and tests these kind of trains, example shatabdi train, it goes at speeds of 180 kms 200 kms/hour, what the Japanese are building is a bullet train which runs in excess of 350+ kms/hour which the present rail system is incapable of. And to bring luxury to train travel which the present rail system is not up to the mark. So please tell me how many metro train system you have?
