I never knew that, very cool! Did you immigrate to the US right after your service (if you don't mind me asking?) I had thought (obviously incorrectly) that you lived in the US (citizen) most of your life.
I gave serious consideration to joining the USN after high school. I ended up opting for college instead. Still think about a USN career sometimes.
After I served, I opted to study abroad in the United States. Similar to the US military's education grants, Japan has something equivalent. Right now, am based in East Coast. I remember you mentioned you're close by to Philly right?
