The Japanese shrinking economy not only affect the people of Japan but also countries in NE asia, like China and South Korea. These 3 said countries trades heavily with each other and when ones goes down it will pull others down with it too. This is the reason why these three NEasian countries must work together to improve their economy when possible. There are other countries would like to see Japan, SK and China argue and fight each rather than cooperating together. Divide and Conquer, they said.

Precisely, there is an integrative effect. China's recent stock market crash had reverberating effects in the Japanese stock market as well, and had lowered public consumption and worries of China's economic performance. This is why Japan and China are inexorably tied together from the hip. I suppose the goal is to find balance in terms of economic interdependence as well as political cooperation dynamics and consultative policies.

China and South Korea have a pretty friendly relationship now and I, as an optimist , believe in the future Japan will also realizes the benefits of such relationship with its neighbors.
