I don't agree with you at all.Competitions are always good.
Competition is not mutual exclusive to cooperation. In today's globalized economy, many countries are forming partnerships, free trade groups and economic union with neighbors; Like NAFTA, ASEAN, EU, Mercosur, etc. many of these countires competes with each others but at the same time cooperating in major economic policies that benefits all within the block/group. Even as the world's biggest country by far, the USA knew the benefit of forming NAFTA with Canada and Mexico. And Japan, SK and China will lose out in the future if they don't form their own trading blocks.
China and South Korea have a pretty friendly relationship now and I, as an optimist , believe in the future Japan will also realizes the benefits of such relationship with its neighbors.And there is no friendship between China,Japan and Korea.
