Srinagar: The Indian Army has cornered a group of terrorists in the forests near Zachaldara village in Handwara area of north Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. A fierce gunbattle is on between the troops belonging to 21 Rashtriya Rifles assisted by police and the terrorists.

The Army launched the counter-insurgency operation following reports of the terrorists hiding in the forests. No casualties have been reported on either side so far, Army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel JS Brar said.

As the soldiers closed in on the location of terrorists, the ultras opened fire. The security forces retaliated, triggering a fierce encounter.

Five Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists were killed in the same area on March 28.

Yeah right...i have seen how innocent these people are since it is MY state you are talking about.


I feel so happy when i see them killed because in the early 90s the news of these innocent people killing Hindus was so common.They drove almost the entire Hindu population out of Kashmir.

Even in my area ie Jammu which has nothing to do with their focking freedom movement they came and killed many innocent people.I have lost friends in Raghunath temple and Kaluchak attacks.Even going to weddings had become scary for people since these innocent people would go to Hindu weddings and finish the whole barat with their AKs.


But i am happy that in my region atleast things are very peaceful now thanks to the Indian Army and the combined efforts of Hindu,Muslim,Sikhs who dont support their cause and thats the only reason you wont find any terrorist activity in Jammu district and south of it till Punjab border.

STF jawan killed in naxal encounter in Chhattisgarh

A Special Task Force jawan was today killed in an exchange of fire with Maoists in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

Police suspect that at least five guerrilla cadres were also killed in the encounter that took place near Gandharpada village under Gadiras station limits early morning, Sukma district superintendent of police Abhishek Shandilya told PTI.

He said trooper Aadesh Pal was hit in the chest when naxals opened fire on the STF team after they were cornered in Gandharpada forest area.

The firing continued for four hours after which the Maoists fled the spot, he said.

The SP further said that police found heavy blood stains at five places in vicinity of the encounter site which made them believe that at least five naxlas might have been killed in the exchange of fire. Police, however, have not recovered any dead body of ultras from the spot.

The SP said additional police force has been sent to the area and combing operation is on to trace the naxals."The dead body of the STF jawan is being shifted to Sukma," he added
