This is strange...BNP is a very much bigger political party with wider popularity base? Why BNP need Jamaat Party? I mean rather i feel Jamaat should need BNP blessing because Jamaat is a smaller party that the BNP...If i am wrong..then is there any different perception of BD public for BNP?
Ah, Now Non Jamati Moulovis are Radical Islamists? Keep telling it and alienate the Moulavis.... We will see who wins....who gets the public support .
1. The mainstream Islamic 'ulama in Bangladesh have legitimate concerns about the anti-Islamic blogs e.g. Rajeeb's one.
2. However they hate Maudoodi and Jamat and consider them heretics basically.
Notice none of them said anything much when Jamati leaders were imprisoned or Kader Molla was sentenced, or when the government announced their plans to ban Jamat. Deobandis don't really have a problem with that.
Deobandis, Fultolis, Ahlul Hadith all of them hate the 4.6% party that is Jamat.
Its like BJP is the main party and it needs even Bajrangis.
a vote divided against the big party is the main driver in elections
Can you point out how many anti-Islam blogs are run in BD by anti-Islam elements?
kalu_miah, seriously . . . . . RAW? Again? Backed by any evidence or is it pure speculation?
Almost all the organizers of Shahbag protest are somehow related to Anti Islam Blogging.... Though they are protesting against Jamat in the name of War crime using public sentiment, their main target is Islam.... JAMAT utilized the opportunity and published those writings... Now the Non Jamati Mullahs are angry against Shahbag. commie newspaper daily star is trying to portrait them as radicalS in the article. But this is a wrong move, huge proportion of our people are madarasa educated and they will not tolerate any bigotry against Islam. Never knew secularists are this dumb!

I have read the article Mr. Munshi mention on other post and its disturbing on so many levels.

seems the awami conspiracy theory gone wrong and backfiring expected.
this is funny that in the garb of "war crimes trial" the anti-Islam hindutva sections have started targeting Islam through blogs.
There is need to separate the two and the educated Bangladeshis need to point out these anti-Islam stuff.
@kobiraaz what did i tell youBNP blasts bloggers’ anti-Islamic remarks
Dhaka: Opposition BNP on Tuesday night strongly condemned and protested the indecent and derogatory remarks about Almighty Allah, Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (pbuh), his family and disciples and Islam posted by some bloggers on blogs and social media websites.
In a statement, the party said, “It’s already come to the notice of the people of the country that some bloggers have hurt the religious belief and sentiment, and the country’s culture and tradition by making disparaging remarks about Allmighty Allah, Rusul (SM) and Islam on online blogs and social websites.”
Denouncing the remarks, the party said only perverted people and insane can make such comments. “BNP considers it as a part of meanly motivated and deep-rooted conspiracy,” the statement said.
The party alleged that had there been no covert patronage of the government the online bloggers would not have been able to carry out such anti-Islamic propaganda.
The statement, signed by BNP office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, said, “BNP strongly believes in the affinity of all people irrespective of religion and race.”
Mentioning that the nation has no tradition to belittle any religious community, the party said the people of all religions have been living in peace and coexistence in the country for thousands of years.
“Every religious community is involved with deep emotion and pure affection about the Creator and His messenger,” the statement said adding that there will be strong repercussion among people if the emotion is hurt.
It said the people of Bangladesh never accept any disrespect to the sanctity and dignity of Allah and his messengers.
