jai ho didn't deserved the oscar

Is AR Rehman the only Muslim to have won Oscar or are there others too? :what:

Dude why are you bringing the muslim angle into this?? He is an Indian and won an Oscar. Do you think oscar judges have reservation against muslims?

Thats the story of all Bollywood movies, they are tediously slow.

He is pretty unique, and never afraid of experimenting.

Call me strange, but the only reason i watch Indian movies is for songs, dance, and melo-drama. Offers me an experience that Hollywood movies can't provide :D

exactly!
jai ho wasn't rahman's best work,
but he got the best for it!

Academy Awards are only given out to movies that are either made in Hollywood or are shown in Los Angeles. Here is one of the rules for qualification -

"According to Rules 2 and 3 of the official Academy Awards Rules, a film must open in the previous calendar year, from midnight at the start of January 1 to midnight at the end of December 31, in Los Angeles County, California, to qualify (except for the Best Foreign Language Film)."

The movies you mentioned were not Hollywood movies neither did they play in the Los Angeles County. Thus they did not qualify to be considered for an Oscar.

Talking 'Jai Ho' down means war...:guns:..Best song ever by AR Rehman....

Enjoy

To me A.R Rahman produced his best ( waaaaaay better than Jai Ho , If I rise , Bombay dreams etc ) when he collaborated with Mani Ratnam .

Roja and Bombay is the high water mark of his long and illustrous career , apparently the Director of Moulin Rouge( Baz Luhrmann) --The first western film rediscovering the musical Genre was inspired very greatly by Rahman 's music and we all know what an Oscar phenomenon that was .

So certainly Jai Ho being honoured was a poor attempt by the Westerners to showcase Rahman's music ---It was certainly no representative of his general standard of work.
