It's over: Tahirul Qadri ends sit-in

.
I think Imran Khan is more like Kejariwal, Qadri is like Anna Hazaray.

Both of them had limited grass-root support. PTI had the second highest number of votes in the entire country despite allegations of rigging. It is safe to assume their popularity has increased as PPP dies of and PML fails to perform.

.
but i think Qadri going to mobilize his supporters all over Pakistan because he announced dharnas in every major city for 2 days, and after Muharam, they will give some real tough time to government, wait and see, i think MQM will join them too. seems like after Muharam government days are numbered because IK also hinted about it. i think they will Jam few major cities..

If alone Karachi is closed for two days, Government will feel heat not in days but in minutes and same applies for Lahore city too.

.
He said that he will now hold sit-ins in all cities of the country and the first one will be held in Abbotabad on 27th of October.
So what's over? Sit-ins are now to be held all over Pakistan, only Islamabad is vacated as its already having sit-in by PTI.

.
Dr. Qadri has not announced any end to the sit-in.
He specifically denounced all such rumours at his Lahore rally.
From time to time, such lies are spread in the media, in an effort to influence public opinion.
Yet whenever I read such lies, I find the sit-in carrying on as if nothing had happened.
Nobody should be fooled by these "Psy-Op" tactics.

Funny! Though not even remotely accurate...

Yet whenever I read such lies, I find the sit-in carrying on as if nothing had happened.
Nobody should be fooled by these "Psy-Op" tactics.

I confess that in this case, for the first time in 67 days, the newspapers have reported correctly that the continuous dharna in Islamabad has ended. The newspapers have lied about it a number of times over these past few months, though. My mistake!

Qadri soon to go abroad: sources

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri ended the Islamabad sit-in as a result of back-door diplomacy with the Sharif brothers, which was facilitated by a mutual contact, ARY News reported citing sources privy to the matter.

ARY News Islamabad bureau chief Sabir Shakir quoted sources as saying that Dr Tahirul Qadri will soon be going out of the country, possibly London or Dubai, where the PAT chief will meet some of the overseas Pakistanis.

He added that Dr Qadri will return to Pakistan after two weeks of his stay abroad and will again analyze the situation to kick-off his political activities.

Sahkir said that the government circles seemed to be happy with the news of the end of PAT sit-in in Islamabad.

He went on revealing that the sit-in was ended as a result of back-door talks between Dr Tahirul Qadri and the Sharif brothers, facilitated by a mutual contact.

It was further reported that the leadership of Awami Tehreek was reviewing the situation of the Islamabad sit-ins and it realized that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was gaining much appreciation by holding countrywide rallies and hence the government succeeded in dividing the two partners who were leading their joint struggle against it, for over 70 days.

On the other hand, PTI leader, Imran Ismail when asked to comment on the development, admitted that his party did have moral support by the Awami Tehreek, however PTI will still continue its sit-in until the achievement of its goals, as the party chairman Imran Khan has vowed time and again.

Ismail however said that the end of PAT sit-in will not have much effect on PTI’s struggle.

thanks for highlighting ary. otherwise i would have read the whole story.

Honestly, it was never his fight, he resides in Canada, holds a Canadian citizenship, I am pretty sure he would be least affected even if Pakistan is destroyed. It is the Pakistani public who are the most affected of the current situation. They should be the ones fighting for their rights. I am not that familiar with Qadri's work to judge whether he is honest or not, but i'll give him the benefit of a doubt. He kept saying in his speeches that he wants to help the oppressed, but in life when you voluntarily do something for others, those ppl will think its your duty to serve them but its not. I don't blame Qadri even if wants to leave, the fact that he tried to do something is already more than enough in my opinion.

For everyone's information, Dr. Qadri has strongly and repeatedly denied there being any deal between himself and the Sharif brothers. He says he decided to end the Islamabad sit-in once he started travelling to other rallies, starting with Faisalabad, and found that the people in other cities wanted him to expand his movement all over the country.

I am doubtful he will go abroad, as travelling out of or into the country will give the government an ideal opportunity to arrest him. And you know they would love to arrest him.
