Do the police have no SOPs at all? This stupid incompetence by authorities and the manipulation of that by politicians is most of the problem in the country.

No UP govt have been lying about it from the beginning . When court forced them to publish the lab report , they had to put the lab report out in the public .

See the answer below. No one is justifying or preventing the law from taking its course. It is the politics that is associated it. Many religious leaders came forward before and after this, that if beef eating is hurting the sentiments of people you know, your neighbours, then what good is it. But some want to eat beef just to rub it in the faces. Beef party organizers have just this political motive nothing else.

There are multiple religious places where you cannot buy liquor and this includes Muslim ones too.
