What's new

It is time for Navy Air Arm to take over from PAF and start flying JF-17's

Hi,

The range has changed multiple times on the websites---
but @MastanKhan category-1, category-2 definition say that both categories limit under 300 Km look yourself sir
13. What is the difference between MTCR Category I and Category II Items?

Category I items include complete rocket and unmanned aerial vehicle systems (including ballistic missiles, space launch vehicles, sounding rockets, cruise missiles, target drones, and reconnaissance drones), capable of delivering a payload of at least 500 kg to a range of at least 300 km, their major complete subsystems (such as rocket stages, engines, guidance sets, and re-entry vehicles), and related software and technology, as well as specially designed production facilities for these items. Pursuant to the MTCR Guidelines, exports of Category I items are subject to an unconditional strong presumption of denial regardless of the purpose of the export and are licensed for export only on rare occasions. Additionally, exports of production facilities for Category I items are prohibited absolutely.

Category II items include other less-sensitive and dual-use missile related components, as well as other complete missile systems capable of a range of at least 300 km
, regardless of payload. Their export is subject to licensing requirements taking into consideration the non-proliferation factors specified in the MTCR Guidelines. Exports judged by the exporting country to be intended for use in WMD delivery are to be subjected to a strong presumption of denial.

Hi,

Restriction are not a word of god---. You can make your modifications---.

with due respect sir i don't understand you sir are you trying to say that CM-400AKG range is 500 Km sir all respected sites say that it has a range of 240- 250 km and what is you trying to convey me
You are right sir, the max range of this missile is 250km

Regarding the CM-400AKG, its domestic range is 500km while the stated expirt range is 250km ti be MTCR compliant. That being said, neither Pakistan nor China are MTCR Members and as such arent bound to the rules. The Chinese "follow them voluntarily" and as of 2000 will not sell ballistic missiles capable of nuclear delivery. They will however sell components for weapons systems. In that vein we have seen Pakistan and China skirt the MTCR rules before and what happens is that a Pakistan buys a Chinese MTCR compliant missile and 2 years later develops its own "local variant". The is how the 500km CM-400AKG will end up in PAF hands (mark it down). Similar route was seen with "Zarb" aka C-602.

Ra'ad II has a range of 550 km. If equipped with the same seeker used in Harba then i'm sure it can double as an AShM.
Hi thanks for your post alas cm400 is supersonic and Raad is subsonic
So in this case if you are firing a 500 or so missile with subsonic speed I think there are more
Chances to tackle the missile before it hit the target
Your thoughts please
Thank you

I learned a lot from sir @MastanKhan and his comments are full of knowledge people like me who do not know basics . Am agree with his views. Thanks sir for your time on this forum

Unfortunately the only answer for Pakistan is Building up it's navy
with Proper Destroyer / Frigate ship combination

Navy is meant to showcase the best options for Surface ships and Sub Surface ships
And the Ships give you the ideal platform to house SAM platforms at Ocean

A fighter Jet can only last and protect for few hours at Sea mission but a Ship or Submarine can continue to loiter for weeks and months with on board supplies

Navy should be first concerned with Ships , Ship and Ships
Even with the planned improvements till 2030, I think it is fair to see we will still be considered a modest Navy in Asian Level

Obviously Potential Deals with Turkey , China on cards

>Istambul Class Frigate , highly anticipated deal
>Chinese bigger Ships 054A level ships

Are sure to bring in necessary safty umberella at Sea

Thats sometimes but not always true. Because of the higher flight path of supersonic missiles they are more likely to be detected earlier than the sea skimming subsonic missile but whether or not the defenses can react to it effectively lilely depends on the ship.

SUBSONIC MISSILES HAS A LESS IR AND RADAR RCS AS COMPARE TO SUPERSONIC MISSILE AND CRUISES AT MUCH HIGHER ALTITUDE THAN SUBSONIC MISSILE WHICH IT WILL DETECT EARLIER BY THE SHIP SENSOR HENCE YOU CAN LAUNCH YOUR ANTI MISSILE SYSTEM EARLIER AGAINST IT BRO BUT MAIN THREAD IS FOR SHIP DEFENSE IS/WILL REACTION TIME/ LET SAY YOUR SHIP SENSORS DETECT BOTH SUPERSONIC AND SUBSONIC CRUISE AT 40 KM SUPERSONIC ONE TO COVER THAT DISTANCE AT 25-30 SEC WHEREAS SUBSONIC ONE IN 90 SEC/3 MINUTES

any one who talks of depending on the defence---.
Sir its not defence but Deterrence by Denial, we simply do not have means to adopt the strategy of Deterrence by Punishment even India is struggling in this
