Fair enough, i wasn't aware of it... but there are several other sources reporting the same but obviously how could the Indians digest anything positive about Pakistan since their own Capital has become famous for other reasons.

There is no metro rail in Karachi. They used to have a suburban train system called the KCR, but that's been defunct for a long time now. For a city the size of Karachi, it's a pretty abysmal state of affairs. I hear they are planning to build a BRT, but that's ridiculous for a city whose population exceeds 20 million.

I for one pity the poorer people of that city for whom it must be pretty horrible to get around.

Karachi being the Finance hub, it's own beach, docks, countries first International airport and once termed gateway to Asia was always the most expensive city in Pakistan. There was a time when people travelling to Dubai had to land in Karachi and take a ferry.
The famous punchline amongst Karachities is...''Sala sirf panch crore ka admi hey''....guy is only worth Five Crore.....peanuts.

They used to have a local suburb train system named Karachi Circular Railway. But lack of locomotives, its shut down for years.

Karachi don't have metro train,it's a city which was comparable to Mumbai in 1947.Even our Tier 2 cities like Lucknow are getting Metro trains.Delhi metro more than a Decade old.

We call them City Bus like DTC or more advance Bus service in Gujrat with a dedicated Road.

It's called Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) all over the world including India, but in Pakistan, they call it "Metro Bus'.

Absolutely.Anyone from Gurgaon can travel entire NCR under 100 Rs through metro fully AC.

There is a reason, Islamabad was recently voted as one of the most beautiful Capital city in the world.

I am not telling that islamabad is bad, it is a smallest city compared to another capitals in the world with less economic activity or financial muscle compared to other capital cities.Few wide roads and greenery does not make any city that significant in international stage.The city already have less 5 star hotels or upcoming hotels,less malls and many pakistani's even told that the city is quite boring as of less entertainment.May be the city is quite good for those retired people.

Thanks.......How good are the beaches.....Tourism is the key for such differences......More the people visit from outside the living cost is also likely to go high......
