What's new

ISRO's budget increased by 35%

If the project is success, there wont be any wastage. Its the curiosity and scientific inquiry of the mankind which resulted in these enormous discoveries and inventions which helped us stand where we are now. These kind of projects also help in boosting morale and gives lots of encouragement to young minds to get proper education which makes them to stand on there own rather than depending on govt handouts.

Again the money could have been used in a better way... they are simply for luxury.. when u do not work on ground level how do u expect to get the better things ?? only the people having money are getting the benefits.. why the divide between the rich and poor is getting bigger and bigger ? why we have problems of maoists ?? why we have so less no. of schools and quality and quantity of teachers ?? we can make india strong only when our base is strong... we want to make kutubminar on marsh.

india needs to keep its misplaced priorities right... we have huge fiscal deficit because of populist measures and ultimately they do not do anything to poor people and ultimately because of populist measures they have to feel the brunt of deficit..

We are not spending that much on ISRO , last year it was just 3% of what americans spend..

ISRO's budget is just three per cent of that of NASA - Times Of India

This year its a 35% increase.. i am guessing lot of it will go to researches on the technologies which we were restricted due to sanctions. with the lifting of it i was expecting more than a 35% increase.

ISRO also has training programmes from where brightest brains of the country are manufactured as scinetists, .example Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS) etc etc.

how can u compare NASA and ISRO budget.. there per capita income is 46 times that of india.. in which scenario ISRO budget is too high.. i am not against granting the amount but the utilization of money in more better way so that we can achieve inclusive growth. The same money can be spent on rural development. 70 % of our population stills live in rural area without electricity and gas (in most of the cases).

I donot know how a mother of a malnourished child would react when she hears about the news of chandrayaan launch at a cost of millions of dollars

I am not frustrated but its a simply waste of money... how does it make to invest on moon?? when we are one of the highest aid receiver in the world . this is shameful every single penny should be use in more meaningful way

yaar!do you know what is future fuel ??Helium 3 thats right and if this time we left behind then it'll be one of the greatest loss for our country ... Now we found water and it establish our brand in international market. And about your aid thing - let me tell you that India never asked for any aid just like china and russia ... Whatever they give is just an eyewash to get an edge in india decison makers policy ... :coffee:

First, Your premise that chandrayaan is a luxurious project is false and and secondly take your socialist bullshit else where. There are many people in this country ( so called middle class )who are working their @$$ off everyday to get those get those benefits you are referring to, may be for them chandrayaan is necessary. Govt has responsibility of eliminating poverty but has equal responsibility of satisfying the ambitions of tax paying middle class.

The bolded part is true for many more things we are spending on.. Even usage of internet or petroleum prices is of no interest for them.

As i told earlier we should nt wait till we become completely a developed nation to pursue our goals. Both has to be on tandem.

Social imbalance is not growing day by day. Infact the current inflation and rise in food prices have been hugely blamed on rural prosperity and the effects of it due to increase in their purchasing power.

I might be politically wrong, but she should have think of that before giving birth to umpteen people. If you care so much about those poor people, you should well spent your time serving them rather than propagating your socialist bullshit on internet.

First of all acknowledge that there are hundreds of projects which has no direct effect on common people. Experiments in various fields , archeological projects, expeditions, IT investments, call centres and many more has no direct effect on the very basic common man. Each of this sector have their own beneficiaries and the benefits indirectly can be passed on to the poorest of poor.

ISRO missions doesnt necessarily mean it involves the topmost scientists. The petty labourers are also part of it. More projects means more job creation.

there is no quick way solution to the poverty it takes time, in our case a lotta god damn time.
