My point is that the Bangladeshi economy is growing quicker than the Israeli one. BTW, we don't get free money to the tune of 1,000 US dollars a year from the rest of the world when all sources are counted. Imagine where we would be now if our 150 million population was given the sort of money that you guys have been getting for the last 60 years. The only factor stopping Bangladesh from growing at 10% a year is the lack of capital to build ports, roads, railways and power stations - the rest of the ingredients currently exist.

Ok, Bangladesh has only 638$ GDP/capita but the country is headed in the right direction. Population growth is going towards 1% a year(lower than Isreal btw). GDP growth is now 7% a year and hopefully as the government funnels more and more of the GDP into infrastructure then this should pick up towards 10% a year by the end of this decade.

Industries like shipbuilding , electronics and IT are now starting to take off. We may be Muslims but we are not a nation without hope like Arab countries which would be your experience as far as Muslims are conecerned

Long term numbers show otherwise. Since 1975 Israeli economy grew 19.1 times, Bangladeshi - 5.9 times.

Well might be the problem is that most muslims live in a delusional world where Muslim nations are actually powerful...
There are just two nations that are powerful amongst the Muslim countries: Turkey and Iran, that`s it.
How many muslim countries are there? Around 50.
How many are impoverished? 90% of them.

Well firstly Bangladesh too got its independence in 1947, it was known as East Pakistan till 1972. Also there are many other areas where India is miles ahead of Bangladesh, besides the difference in life expectancy is not much, and certainly nothing to be cocky about. When next figures are published India will be ahead of Bangladesh.

I take it that you accept there are reasons apart from Islam why a Muslim country like Bangladesh is poor then.

Disagree here. I am not being cocky in the least bit. I used India as it is a neighbouring country with a smiliar history and culture. I consider a difference of 3 years on average quite a large number especially when life expectancy is only in the mid-60s for both countries. I am using Google figures and not the ones from WHO you gave. See below:

You need to understand that Bangladesh is also progressing and it is not standing still so it is unlikely that India will surpass Bangladesh anytime soon in life expectancy.

As for the bit about independence dates, you should know that massive fiscal transfers happened from East Pakistan(Bangladesh) to West pakistan(Pakistan) during the 50s and 60s. In short Bangladeshi money was subsidising the Pakistanis. Just why would the Pakistanis have been doing so well before they broke up with Bangladesh and so badly aferwards? One of the main reasons is that capital from Bangladesh stopped flowing to them and they had to stand on their own two feet.

Lies? What lies? Where can you find any evidence of thousands of Hindus being slaughtered in Bangladesh since we gained Indpendence in 1972? Plenty of examples of massacres on Sikhs and Muslims in India.

As for the decline of the Muslim population in Bangladesh a lot of this was due to the Pakistan era and the independence war in 1971. Since independence in 1972, the population of Hindus in Bangladesh has fallen from 13 to 9% of the total. The main reason for this is the much more backward state of Bangladesh compared to India mainly due to the fact that the union with Pakistan was a massive disaster. However you may be interested in knowing that in the last decade the percentage of Hindus in Bangladesh is staying relatively stable at around the 9% mark. This is mainly due to the much improved economic situation since the start of this millenium. Whatever the faults of the BNP and Awami League, neither of them have either stood on a strictly religious based platform unlike the BJP in India. This more than proves that Muslim Bangaldeshis are by in large more tolerant than Hindus in India. There are very few votes if you bang the religious card in Bangladesh.
