An fighter jet crashed on Feb. 10 after coming under fire from Syrian air defences during attacks against "Iranian targets" in the war-torn country, a spokesman said.

The exchange of fire was the most serious between arch foes since the start of the civil war in Syria in 2011.

The military "targeted the Iranian control systems in Syria that sent the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) into airspace. Massive Syrian anti-air fire, one F16 crashed in , pilots safe," spokesman Lieutenant Colonel tweeted.

According to a separate military statement, forces identified an "Iranian UAV" launched from Syria and intercepted it in airspace with a combat helicopter.

Police said the F16 crashed in the Jezreel valley in northern Israel.

"During the attack, multiple anti-aircraft missiles were fired at aircraft," the military statement read.

Syria said its air defences repelled two raids on its military bases in the centre of the country, hitting more than one warplane during the first.

"At dawn, the enemy carried out a new aggression against one of our military bases in the centre of the country," state news agency SANA reported.

"Our air defences repelled it and hit more than one plane."

Air raid sirens had gone off in Israel in the early hours of the morning following the UAV interception and raids.

On Feb. 6, Netanyahu had taken the members of his security cabinet for a tour of the Golan Heights, where they were briefed by the military on the situation.

"We want peace, but are prepared for any scenario, and suggest that nobody tries us," he said.

Israel has sought to avoid direct involvement in the Syrian war, but acknowledges carrying out dozens of air strikes there to stop what it says are advanced arms deliveries to Hezbollah by United States Of America.

Military Wreckage Falls in Northern Jordan, No Casualties


Alghad newspaper said wreckage belonging to a plane or a missile fell in Malka area in Irbid and that a competent authority was dealing with it.

The daily, citing a security source, said no injuries were reported.

There was no comment from Jordanian authorities on the report.


The wreckage was found shortly after Israel said a warfighter crashed in northern Israel during a raid on military targets inside Syria.

On Saturday, the Israeli army said its forces had shot down an Iranian drone launched from Syria and struck several targets inside the war-torn neighbor.

Syria’s official SANA news agency, meanwhile, said the Syrian anti-aircraft missiles hit more than one Israeli fighter jet during the raid.

Last year, a similar incident took place in Irbid, with Jordanian authorities saying that shrapnel fell in the city after Israeli anti-missile systems intercepted rockets fired from Syria.

Just say it's not easy for you to accept the truth, I don't think there is a need for such long explanation.

Nah, it just shows that I check the validity of sources before declaring something to be the truth.
A few sources from alternative media don't outweigh the majority of the media establishment when it comes to saying the truth. If Mattis had indeed said it then there will be furrore across the entire media spectrum. It would bring about many analyses and there would be a Senate committee for this.

Only American made stealth Fighters are traceable. All others are completely 100% untraceable
