Six of the nine activists killed in Monday’s raid on an aid convoy were shot by a single Israeli commando who is now being considered for a medal of valour.

Israeli reports of the likely award for the soldier — credited with saving his injured comrades as passengers attacked them with clubs, knives and even the guns they had captured from the commandos — are expected to inflame the row with Turkey over the attack on the flotilla.

So as per them its a win and the commandos are heros for them, so whats wrong with honoring the battle heros.

Well the point would have been different if some third party of world body would have given him a medal of honor.

Well, let me be very clear here, I am not supporting the act of Israel on Gaza or whatever. What I was saying was that, its just a matter of perception.

To you, Israel is a villain which killed some civilians going to help the people in Gaza. Where as for Israel, the commando is a war hero. Till now, Israel has not apologized for its action, even though the whole world has condemned it. That means they are still maintaining their stance on the issue.

sure they need medals of valor one can imagine the bravery needed for fully armed commandos who had only frigates and helis to support them while they faced enemies with deadly weapons(sticks , wooden stuff )
