The Philippine Coastal Defense Procurement Project is restarting after it was canceled in 2015 after final signature stages with IMI Systems (today Elbit). Israel proposed the IMI rocket system, which includes a variety of arms. The acquisition is scheduled for the Philippine sea and land arm, with both arms debating between Elbit's system and the BrahMos system developed by India along with Russia.

"One of the main goals of the SBMS project was to assist the Philippine Navy in providing capabilities in the Western Philippine Sea, including the Kalayaan Islands Group, despite its limited range if deployed in Palawan. The idea was to help the Marines (who are under the Philippine Navy) Every other possible enemy force, "the Maxdefense publication writes.



The deal is estimated to be about $ 380 million for the Navy, and another $ 200 million for the Navy. That means a total of about half a billion dollars. According to the publication, the Philippine Army’s arms want to go over one product for better maintenance and synchronization. However, the Philippines may eventually decide to go for a hybrid model between an Indian and an Israeli product.

It was jointly developed by India and Russia. And if India has selling rights then India has ownership rights too. That should tell you something about the Indian contribution to the missile.
