Israel launches missile strikes at Syria's Damascus, Homs

DAMASCUS, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Israel launched missile strikes at some sites in the Syrian capital of Damascus and the central province of Homs on Thursday night, Syrian state TV reported.

The Syrian air defenses responded to the attacks, intercepting most of the Israeli missiles, reported the TV, citing a military source.

The Syrian authorities were assessing the damages caused by the strikes, it added.

The sounds of explosions were clearly heard in Damascus as the Syrian air defenses were responding to the attack.

A Xinhua reporter in Damascus saw Syrian air defense missiles chasing targets in the sky before loud explosions were heard.

The Israeli attack was the second to hit Syria within two days, after a missile attack targeted military sites in the country's southwestern province of Quneitra on Tuesday.

Israel has repeatedly launched attacks at Syrian military sites under the pretext of targeting the sites where pro-Iran militias are located.

According to Israeli sources, Syrian air defense missile chased Israeli fighter jet to Jordanian borders.

Israel is already looking for trouble in the region, they are conducting operations against Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestinians. The resistance axis on the other hand is showing restraint to these terror activities of Israelis.

There are plenty of reasons for this restraint, first and more important is the internal situation of Iran and its relations with other resistant member countries. USA is hardly trying to cause trouble in these countries supposed to be resistant members for example they interfere in Iraqi elections, they impose economical blockade on Lebanon helping the Saudi puppets to put pressure on Iranian allies of Lebanon i.e. Hariri, blockade on Yemen and Palestine.

The most important Factor among these regional actors is Iran and its preparedness. USA for years tried to keep Iran busy on its eastern borders using Saudi paid elements of Wahabi Groups. They constantly keep attacking Iranian borders from Pakistani and afghani bordering areas.

The recent positive development in which Taliban took the control of Afghanistan was a big point scoring moment for Iran. If Taliban succeeds in making borders safe for both sides then Iran will have more time, resources and more chance to saffocate Israel in the west.

Most importantly if Iranian allies in the resistant axis succeed to overcome western imposed challenges, then again, Iran will have more time and resources to keep highly pressure on Israelis.

The key is to subdue them. By constantly being in their throat.. Sometimes Iraqi Groups attack american military convoy and their installations, sometimes IRGC has to operated drone strikes to open the borders to Syria given the fact that USA wants to blockade Syria. The Hotspot is Al Bu Kamal area where Iran and USA are trying to Take the control of. In Syria, you have same situation, Russians are not that much trustworthy but their presence at the very least causes problems for Americans.

These are the challenges that the resistance axis is facing already, add the Saudi and Emirati role of supporting Israel to it and the ambitions of Turks to occupy some part of Syraq. One might Ask himself, is Turkey enemy of resistance axis? The answer is no, but their ambition gives Americans plenty of chance to interfere and make their military presence permanently.

Russian want to save themselves for the failure of thier air defence in Syria (the pansir air defence was humiliated by Israel and turkey) because they want to sell there equipment to world 3 countries. I heard that 4 hizballahatan members where vaporized I think the number may be much higher . It is the 100 time that Israel bombarded Iranian and shia terrorist in syria

I agree with you here. No matter how we look at it. Israel has been striking Syria for years now, with little fight back from the so called resistance axis(Iran, Syria). lol Even a fool can see this . They talk more than anything. lol
