The media say that, but in reality the Russians aren't particularly trustworthy at all, let alone when it comes to Iran. I suppose they are looking for their own interests. But they don't see Iran as a strategic ally, rather they attempt to use Iran as a bargaining chip. The S-300 debacle is a prime example of this.

It is further justification for Iran to rely on itself rather than others as much as possible.

Iranians need to be wise to the fact that if the Israelis cant stop the sale they will push for downgraded weapons to be sold to iran

The arabs fell for this numerous times, paying top dollar for downgraded weapons whilst the Israel's got the latest and best

Russia is not to be trusted, they need the money so wont cancel but if the Iranians are smart they will keep an eye on the type and quality of weapons they are getting

China is not that desperate like Russia, they know Ali Khamenai and co. are hotheads and can extend duration of sanctions with one speech which means deal may never realize properly and cause tentions between both countries.. China may dont want that..

Btw if there are still sanctions then how Iran got S-300?
