Trucks carrying commercial cargo from Karachi, #Pakistan reached Istanbul, #Turkey for the first time. The trucks reached Istanbul via Iran, covering a distance of 5300 kilometres, as part of the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI-ECO) road trade and transport corridor.

We will use Chabahar port to deliver goods to Europe, we can use Gwadar to import Chinese goods. Given Pakistani Chinese close relations, we can replace port of UAE with Gwadar.
If only Iranian leadership understood the utility of cooperation for mutual benefit rather than getting embroiled in geopolitical wrestling with its neighbors.

this is shameful

two large powerful country and we sending container trucks

HK does more in a day than Pakistan does in month

Pakistan dont know how to trade

our total exports dont even exceed $30 billion

embarrassing

Turkish exports with 1/3 of the population is doing over $175 billion per year

tiny Hungry is $150 billion

tiny Scotland with 5 million people is doing over $100 billion

Regional trade must be increased. This is a good step. Scotland was industrialized centuries ago.....Pakistan is still largely agririan.....no comparison. Industrialization is the key and using the East Asia model the best plan. Elite's in Pakistan have been either comfortable with the status quo or focused on Anglo-American economic models (first British style leftish economics then later services driven import consumption economics).

You can also use pakistani land to deliver oil through pipe line to China that is Chinese plan for future

Without ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT by Iran, I am afraid such projects are useless, and only look good on paper. There is a major trust gap between Pakistan and Iran, and Turkey and Iran.

Sir G, we are hard shirks; only good in No 2 strategies. We don't produce enough for us, what do you think we could export apart from mango and kinos?
Though these both fruits are paying back but could not skyrocket our economy. We have to increase our industrial base and transform ourselves from a consumer-based to a manufacturer-based economy. IMO this is the way forward.
In the last five years, I noticed some improvement in the trend especially in Agri based machines and soft ice cream machines but this is the basics; we have to go a long long way and our policymakers are not awake.

Time for Iran and Pakistan to drop the border.

Whenever a new President comes in any country. Tries to be harsh with Pakistan. Eventually melts. And has to bend to Pakistan. Modi (these days he is silent and training to become a sadhu baba), Trump, Macron, EU, Iranis will come around too.

These days Iranians are behaving like the kid when he goes through hard times while playing a game. Ruins it for everyone else.

Hmm 5300 km is about 2500 miles. To put it into perspective about equivalent of going from East to West Coast. Knew a guy who did a run like that twice a month. And squeezed in a few regional runs nearby. Made 10k easy. I kid you not if all these corridors materialize trucking will boom like crazy. And there will be billions to be made and market share to be had.

This will be even more profitable if combined with rail freight and intermodal cargo. And by making an actual system of highways, highway assistance for breakdowns(you won't be happy if you're a business man in Istanbul and your cargo is stuck in Turbat due to breakdown and no assistance) and having electronic logging of hours drivers drive for. I believe Chinese are now starting to make European COE cab trucks why not use those?

If you actually implement a system to the present chaos in Pakistani trucking you can make a lot of money. Look at how European companies are doing it.
