Islamabad Police to upgrade BDS

Just inside news that I thought i'd share with the forum. Islamabad Police pending review of PC1 will be seeking further funding to upgrade the capacity of the EOD/BDS: Bomb Disposal Squad in the capital city.

Islamabad Police has the oldest serving professionally trained BDS outside of the Pakistan Army.

Islamabad Police has the oldest serving professionally trained BDS outside of the Pakistan Army.

This is good news. We need to upgrade the capabilities of police so that we are not looking towards Army and Rangers every time there is a problem. BDS funding and up gradation for police mean they will be able to handle terrorism related job on their own. With rapid response team and SSG trained squads we are moving toward a more potent police capable of handling domestic matters.

While we are discussing this, the police troops, at least some units and groups must also be equipped with Elite soldier level equipment, better guns, sights, protective gear etc.
