This is why one see many of them visiting Gilgit. But some years ago terrorist attack on tourists meant now less goras go there. Gwadar have great potential to attract tourists from cold places if Pakistan people open up a bit.

I don't understand why there is no proper statistics of foreign tourists in pakistan

To have proper statistics you need to have quanta. Since there are no, nada, zilch foreign tourists to Pakistan you can't have statistics. These so called "British" vistors to Islamabad are people like me and the other million British Pakistanis who go back to keep alive their connection with their country of heritage.

A country that is sold as just a refuge for Indian Muslims is going to attract the odd Bin Laden, few Al-Baghdadis, couple of million Indian Muslims, another few million Banglas and few more Rohinghyas to enrich; enlarge the slums in Karachi. That about sums it really.

And any foreigner who wants to taste the flavours of the sub-continent heads to India. That is the real McCoy. The real deal. At least that is how the world at least percieves it. And that is what matters.

Why are British people so obsessed with making holiday in Spain?

The weather in Iberia is very agreeable. I prefer Portugal - easier to converse in English. But can see why the Brits would like Spain.

spain is dirt cheap.. the crowd that goes to spain are groups of lads who want to get wasted. There is no such similar scene in italy or greece.

It can't just be overseas Pakistani's because Mumbai and Delhi are ranked lower than Islamabad, Cities with much bigger population.

may be because islamabad is most popular stopover in pakistan for expats.. where as for Indian it delhi/mumbai/kolkata/chennai... you should compare indian expats with pakistani expat population in UK not city populations.

I didn't find much difference between Portugal/Spain in terms of costs - of course Spain attracts the younger lot I guess. Greece has become very popular with Indians. Don't know much about Italy.

i guess spain is much bigger and has more places to offer.. plus a lot of brits have bought property there to retire(old folks)... combine that with lads who binge drink and get high on drugs.
its just somehow got a reputation (malaga, ibiza etc) that attracts british crowd year after year, they dont need to try and sell it.

Pakistan gets its fair share of foreign tourists though they are not as much as India Gets. India has made it easy for people to visit . One of it is providing e-visa for Tourists from 180 countries . Whereas to visit Pakistan you need to wait for weeks to get a visa . As for numbers according to world bank it was around a million in 2012 , With security drastically improved I expect the numbers to climb this year

Have used Lahore Airport as well. So I have seen with my own eyes. Ten of us ex-pats land. Met by 100 relatives. Same thing on departing. Have not visited Karachi airport. Maybe millions of foreign tourists land there to see wonders of Pakistan there.

That was a long time ago. That "hippy scene" could have matured to proper large scale industry but the Afghan-Soviet war and Pakistan's need to become the dumping ground of the ummah pretty well knocked that possibility out.

Majority of the Foreign tourists go to Northern Pakistan . There are dozens of Vlogs by them on Youtube for this year alone .
