Seems odd. Would have expected Lahore and Karachi to rank much higher if it was mostly down to overseas Pakistanis.

Sir, reality is different from the hype. Lahore is NOT popular with foreigners and for obvious reasons but apparently Pakistani people especially Lahoris have very different preferences from the western people.
Islamabad is safer, cleaner and far more green, developed, well-developed, trendy, international and disciplined ..much more similar to the western cities.

Islamabad is safer, cleaner and far more green and developed..much more similar to the western cities.

According to passenger traffic in Islamabad airport is around 4.7 million in 2015 and so can consider 5 million in 2017 and even karachi airport is 6.1 million and lahore standing at 4.7 million.So even islamabad is a smaller city compared others, it carries more peoples from abroad or in the form of tourists.Since it is a capital and considering more safe and so no wonder islamabad stand No.1 position.

Tourists have least interest in Islamabad of all places in Pakistan. Don't read to much in to Islamabad being more popular then Ibiza for goras. Been to Ibiza and in summer look like mini-England while you can barely see any goras in Islamabad or in Pakistan cities. Once international standard airport is build in Mirpur and other smaller cities ISB will see less traffic.

Sialkot airport have already taken chunk of ISB and Lahore traffic.
