What's new

ISIS released dahaka attack terrorists images sighting no links to Pakistan

Not surprising, many of the ISIS recruits have been this way, either from India, UK or elsewhere. Hell the guy who created AQ was the son of an extremely rich construction magnate.

The unfortunate opinion that forms then is everyone is a potential terrorist, rich, poor, educated, uneducated, no matter what background or living in which country.

It does not matter how many step we toke to reduce this kind of incident..........by day and day i can see only more and more violance is comming , not only bangladesh but also the whole world. :coffee:

Something is seriously missing in our educational systems. We need drastic overhauling in almost everything. A society full of inequalities/contrast, rampant bribery, injustice has to face this way.
The kids are part of many broken links in our society.
But I think that we are right direction also. Economy as well as many social parameters are complementing each other.

Read post No 20.

This would show that the problem is not new.

Senior citizens encourage such things , its not education alone,

.
Why should we stop them? We should not. Who will cleanse our soil of the infiltration that has been going on in massive scale? Not our military. No way. Because the Auladane Mir Jafar will ensure they remain neutralized as in Palassy and Peelkhana.

Wasnt there a policy here wherein supporters of terrorist organisations were not allowed / encouraged to spew their venom here ?

That is pretty much the case, the whole Poverty/uneducated = terror thing has been debunked a few times now. I am quite surprised that this is still being mentioned.

Consider that 15 of the 19 hijackers involved in the Sept. 11 attacks were from one of the wealthiest countries in the world (Saudi Arabia), and were from middle class, if not rich families; their leader, Osama Bin Laden, a Saudi billionaire. They didn't lack material wealth; they lacked the sensitivity to value human life.

They analyze opinion polls among Palestinians, which showed strong support for attacks against Israeli targets among students, merchants, and professionals. The unemployed were less likely to support such attacks. "If poverty were indeed the wellspring of support for terrorism or politically motivated violence, one would have expected the unemployed to be more supportive of attacks than were merchants and professionals, but the evidence points the other way," the economists show. Another study by Claude Berrebi, also at Princeton, showed that over half of the Palestinian suicide bombers had attended school after high school, while less than 15% of the general population in the same age group had any post-high-school education.

statistical analysis of Hezbollah activists in Lebanon showed that those who lived above the poverty line or had higher education were more likely to join the Hezbollah. Lest their research be dismissed as an attack on Islam, the economists showed that extremist Israeli Jewish settlers of Gush Emunim were overwhelmingly from better-paid occupations.

C.Fair carried out a similar study similar analysis in Pak with 6000 people that showed people who were better off were actually more supportive of terror groups etc, than the poor, who were actually victims of terror.
Policy debates on strategies to end extremist violence frequently cite poverty as a root cause of support for the perpetrating groups. There is little evidence to support this contention, particularly in the Pakistani case. Pakistan's urban poor are more exposed to the negative externalities of militant violence and may in fact be less supportive of the groups. To test these hypotheses we conducted a 6,000-person, nationally representative survey of Pakistanis that measured affect toward four militant organizations. By applying a novel measurement strategy, we mitigate the item nonresponse and social desirability biases that plagued previous studies due to the sensitive nature of militancy. Contrary to expectations, poor Pakistanis dislike militants more than middle-class citizens. This dislike is strongest among the urban poor, particularly those in violent districts, suggesting that exposure to terrorist attacks reduces support for militants. Long-standing arguments tying support for violent organizations to income may require substantial revision.

There are much more effective ways of protest - bandh, dharnas, rallies. .The inclination to hack innocent civilians, women to death is much deeper then mere politics.

As for radicalisation, there was a period of time when people traveled to terror hotpots and where jihad training camps operated to get trained and become jihadis - now Internet is the easiest way, join some radical forums, twitter discussions, Facebook pages and the recruiters get in touch with them. To the extent that muslim girls living in the west travel to become jihadi brides.

Damn shocks me.
What kind of machinery must be in place which transforms higlhly educated youth to a zombie terrorists.

Really curious what things are said to such people in training them ?

For the purpose of argument, let me suggest,
  1. With proper training, intelligence, sophisticated reasoning and rationale - a case could be made that your 80 year old grandma is a threat and needs to be killed. IS has plenty of these and enough qualified psych-war personnel and footsoldiers to make this happen. Any 18 to 25 year old with fresh boiling blood is a ripe target.
  2. Add to this the vicious mix of 'a worthy cause', or to be a part of 'something big', then all bets are off.
How do we prevent this from happening? Intelligence and plenty of it.

Parents of these guys had to have some inkling on what the heck these guys were up to. If they had seen any trace of sudden radicalization - they would have needed to do something about it, such as sending the kids to a reformation camp, taking away all mobile phones, internet and you name it so avenue of radical brainwashing can stop. The US Intel community is already conducting this in Minnesota for young Somali youth who were headed to Al-Shabab camps.

So get the parents involved who will readily cooperate.

Malaysia also seems to be a very large radicalization source as many Bangladeshi radicals have made their home there. The Bangladeshi authorities should have a dialog with Malaysian authorities starting immediately to monitor radical training camps and 'firebrand' imams in mosques.

. .
Bangladesh establishment systematically marginalized Jamatis by killing their leaders thus giving motivational factor for greater evil to come. This is how you invite terror by oppressing sentiments of many. Sheikh Hasina should be held responsible to convert Bangladesh into BanglaDAESH.

I think it is the first time ISI's name is not taken...

These idiots did. Indian media is trying their best to bring ISI connection but in vain.Indian media source NDTV is running top headline quoting an Awammi League minister that its looks like a handi work of some ISI backed group than ISIS lol.

No you are already informed one is the son of a Awamileague leader. Here is a lesson for you - Never be prejudiced.

You are the only bigot. Why should it hurt your feeling when someone speaks against a 1400 yr. old education system, where the pupils are taught the Earth is a flat object? Whatever was good yesterday may no more be good in today's context.

You are trying to subvert a person's idea of bettering the school system in BD. There must be one and unequivocal system of education so that the vices of being taught by the superstitious molla teachers stop.

Another is polarization of the society. By all means do you think our Madrasa teaching is good or better than the normal schooling system. Then fight for this system universally instead of two system.

You have no idea, do you?? How many orphans in Bangladesh instead of ending up in road are fed and brought up in these Quomi Madrasas? Go figure.
