ISIS continues to haunt Egyptian Army in Sinai

Pfm... Yeah.
As if AJ+ didn’t pay them for interview.

What interview?

Man, Qatar is the main source of funding for Islamists across the West.

I don't care about whatever is called Islamists. Islamists are flawed people just like the other side in the region. Both sides create double standards for themselves and both are unpopular. Hamas has its faults too but I can assure you they are not anything like other Islamists and have a good mindset towards social issues and affairs in Palestine.

Surprisingly I don’t expect Daesh to wander around in parts of the Sinai, but they get smoked when detected by soldiers. Weapons that are used by Hamas ended up in the hands of the Islamic State, am I missing something? Perhaps tunnels don’t seem to ring a bell.

I'm sorry but I don't subscribe to this kind of logic. Weapons are weapons and everyone have access to them. It doesn't mean anything. ISIS steal weapons shipments intended for Hamas and they also Egyptian sourced weapons. No surprise Gaza uses Egyptian weapons from Egyptian black market as well. Old Egyptian anti tank weapons like Sagger also used in Gaza.

I've been to Sinai during its most dangerous periods and Gaza and I can tell you, you are not well informed on situation on Gaza-Egyptian border. ISIS does not operate from Gaza they come into these areas from the West of Gaza and there is sadly an interest by Egyptian gov't, Israel and US to allow them to operate near Gaza to sabotage Hamas and justify the greater blockade against it.

No doubt Hamas uses Egyptian weapons, I’m 100% sure they do and that Mubarak didn’t mind at all, point is Egypt has no more enemies in the Sinai that are Egyptians - all Sinai tribes are now in a coalition w/ Egypt and whoever is in ISIS then he’s most probably not Egyptian. How does Hamas counter Daesh? Belgian rifles and ex Libyan AK-103s were in Libya, after Gadaffi’s death and the intervention they ‘appeared’ in Gaza and now they are w/ the Sinai Province. Wouldn’t walls prevent that?

You are mistaken my friend, Sinai is still tense and I would like to see it get developed after this insurgency is eliminated. I also believe good ties between Gaza and Egypt is crucial for both development of Sinai and Gaza. This requires less hostility from Egyptian gov't towards Hamas since Hamas is ruling authority of Gaza.

You answered your own question btw, the weapons come from Libya or Egypt or Sudan all go to Egyptian black market. It is not true that they all go to Gaza. Gaza cannot afford much weapons and they have to pay for this stuff, it is not free. So much of it remain in the black market and some stolen by these militants or purchased.

Egypt's security is in our interest but for this to happen there needs to be strong cooperation between us and Gaza needs a strong military force and flourishing economy to counter both ISIS and Israeli threats. These ISIS militants have done suicide attacks in Gaza too against Hamas security officers.

Thought there still might some buried secrets yet to be discovered in the Sinai

Some residents stumbled across a group of militants whom they say did not speak Egyptian Arabic.
@Gomig-21

Yep, I've mentioned that on several occasions. Even the idiots on Twitter who play some of the releases of these cretins and you listen to them talking it's clear as day. Oddly, even Asiuti Egyptian Arabic or some of the northern delta heavy lands Egyptian Arabic is clearly distinguishable than what I would call -- for the simple sake of simplicity -- Shamy Arabic.

Totally agree with you there, my brother. I would hope to see that day come InshaAllah. Not that it's anything new, but what the folks in Gaza are currently experiencing with the Israeli army and the shootings and demolitions seems to be at a whole new level. It's so disturbing to hear every day.

. .
And Egypt wants to take on Lybia? The laugh of the century...
