China's only option is to completely occupy Vietnam and seize control over all its oil rigs. If occupation of Vietnam means some unfortunate incidents with civilians, then too bad, the Vietnamese should have learned not to backstab its big neighbor to the North.

Vietnam is a extremely poor starving country,having it can only drag China down economically,we are not responsible for feeding them,just let them to their own devices.

Wake us up when that happens. It might just be the other way around. It will be a good boost to both China and Russia's military manufacturers. Vietnam is just getting played by all three powers again (America, Russia and China), talk about history repeating itself

Uh call it whatever you want, personally I classify one side capture and killing soldiers on the other side's soil as an invasion.

Are you guys serious that conventional war in this 21st century? In case any country wants to dominate enemey country there are other means that can be achieved to get its objective done...So i dont think China will go on war rather China will try to create Vietnam economy more dependent on China or some kind of relationship where Vietnam will have to think about its statergy before hurting China interests...

Korea War was different. China today has more responsibilities, it can't act as a rouge nation.

Korea war was limited to one front. This war that the "strategist" was talking was about taking whole of Asia in a multi-frontal war. Even the lone super-power can't take on the whole world alone. No country can fight the rest of the globe.
