Afghanistan is more or less a Central Asian country. It's hard to predict military strategies, but from what Iran has done in the region so far, you can tell that by Western Asia, Iran means Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.

Iran will open multiple fronts they will wait for USA to leave if USA will not leave they will back Taliban in Afghanistan and attack US bases along their own forces as adviser. Imagine Iran giving drone to Taliban, what will Taliban do if they have their own drowns to attack US bases? You think America can fight Iran lol. What will Taliban do to Americans if they have anti air from Iran? Or Taliban get access to ballistic missiles. Like houthis. Just imagine. Vietnam will look like a picnic. I mean Iran is sanctioned so they don't fear sanctions anymore USA cannot attack Iran from gulf cause gulf countries will not allow as no one wants to go to war so only option for USA is to fight in Iran's chosen war and that will hurt USA. And what if Iran already has developed a nuke and were hiding it. It is night mare of fear for USA.
When Iran said they will make USA leave they can do it easily.

Iran was not arming them because of hope of having JCPO deal restored but now Iran has nothing to lose. They are enriching uranium JCPO is gone. Now Trump have elections and if his act brings coffins to USA from Afghanistan he will lose badly. He played a bad gamble without fully realizing the consequences.

One more thing to add has anyone seen the Pompeo tweet video I posted he said Iran has relations to a taliban group call to Tora Bora taliban. Lol. In all my time on pdf how the hell I missed this group of taliban. American are confused and they have lost their mind. He is ex CIA director and he don't know groups of taliban. Lol

In fact, Afghanistan is PRECISELY the theatre that Iran would use to achieve its current objectives.

Any attacks elsewhere would have to negotiate all sorts of determined pro-US militants (mainly ISIS, possibly Kurds, Sunni tribes etc), not to mention effective US air support because of sprawling familiar terrain, as well as Israelis and Saudis being in striking distance.

If Iran chose Afghanistan as its theatre of operations, many of those problems would be mitigated if not removed altogether.

However don't be surprised if ISIS in Afghanistan suddenly becomes active against the Taliban in the coming weeks.

The reason why the Americans have less KIA in Afghanistan even though they have better economy, technology and more allies is because when the Soviet invaded Afghanistan they were seen as aggressors but when Americans invaded Afghanistan they were seen as fighter of terrorism and anyone who support the taliban support terrorism unlike the Afghan mujahideen so if the taliban gets support and training like the mujahideen in the 80s or the Vietnamese the Americans would have left Afghanistan many years ago.

That's the only reason why they have less KIAs than the soviets even though they have more allies stronger economy and technology plus they faced less deadly insurgency than the soviets faced in Afghanistan but still lost trillions.
