Why would China lose half the profit when we can make full profit? Ukraine refused to sell us engine for VT1A tank for Peru when they are marketing their T-84 for Peru army. Why not?
If PA want to buy some Altay Turret and install them on the Chassis of the VT-4,they will learn nothing from the project. Why not try to R&D a new turret by yourself?you will learn much more from such project.
And they will deliver them at a rate of 0.8 engines per year.
And if you want spare parts, cash out to restart their production with a few years lead time.
Turkey needs a power-pack include 1500HP engine and hydraulic transmission box,but Ukraine don't have 1500HP engine nor hydraulic transmission box, then how can you acquire above techs from Ukraine?Hence the licence production option. Just get the tech no need to relly on them for production. Turkey has good enough tech base to absorb such tech transfer.
Can you make the VT-4 chassis? What happened to Al Khalid II? Is it out yet or...?It could also be a good idea for Pakistan for a future tank. Chassis of the VT-4 with the Altay Turret.

That thing names TD6-3,but it just a R&D plan on the paper not a real engine by now.And only an engine is useless, what Turkey need is a fully power-pack include engine and hydraulic transmission box like the Euro-Power pack in Korean's K2 tank.Ukraine announces 1500HP version of 6TD engine
They had it as blueprints for years, just never produced serially as nobody bought. Now it seems they at least paid to build up some inventory for their own tanks.
Well that's valid as long as Russia doesn't conquer UkraineDid watch the video, and the tank isn’t out of hot water yet, the South Korean engine can be sanctioned too, and with how Turkey-US relations are going, who knows, there is still a Ukrainian option.
however I believe the tank will eventually reach production in one state or another.
Ukrainians keep designing things and end up not producing them, all the time.Ukraine announces 1500HP version of 6TD engine

why has this project failed where others have been so successful ? whats the core reason ?
Good and powerful engine are notorious difficult to acquire and not many can build it from scratch.why has this project failed where others have been so successful ? whats the core reason ?
Design is one thing. To build it actual into production is another thing. Especially mass production. Ukraine with many years of war and economy ruin, I doubt their past glorious factory are up to the task.Ukrainians keep designing things and end up not producing them, all the time.

K2 tank use MTU engine.Altay Tank design comes from Korean K2 tank, so it is so match if Altay uses engine and transmission from Korean that is also design to power Korean K2 tank
