perhaps you should read Panchatantra.... there is nothing religious about it and even if it is still nothing wrong in respecting other religions as it is.

great story teller for kids specially.... give it a try.

No, not interested in the stories and not interested in respecting a certain other religion.

FYI "The character of Puss in Boots originated in a European fairy tale in 1697". It is a fairly common book to read as a child.

The story of the 2011 movie is originally based on Panchatantra story - I doubt it even though i haven't seen the movie, a cursory read reveal nothing of the original plot. Shrek movies poke fun at Disney animations (princesses/picture-perfect-beauties/happily-ever-afters) mainly because Dreamworks -the studio that produced these movies was founded by Jeffery Katzenberg -who was fired from Disney despite revitalizing the animation department simply because he was stealing Micheal Eisner's shine (CEO at that time). Incidentally, it was Eisner who insisted on bring Jeff over when he was being poached from Paramount.

Read 'Pancha tantra' and get enlightened. You will realise that even 'Junglebook' was inspired by stories in 'Pancha tantra'

The characters were lifted right out of an old Ganga parable about the adventures of Manish the Mammoth and Siddharth the Sloth.

Kalila wa-Dimna

One of the most popular books ever written is the book the Arabs know as Kalila wa-Dimna, a bestseller for almost two thousand years, and a book still read with pleasure all over the world.

Kalila wa-Dimna was originally written in Sanskrit, some time in the fourth century CE. In Sanskrit it was called the Panchatantra, or “Five Discourses.”

I haven’t read anything conclusive that suggests Puss in Boots is derived from panchatantra. Merely pointing to existing traditions of stories about anthropomorphic animals is not enough, and these literary creations were in use by Aesop and other ancient Greek writers as well.

I don’t understand this obsession with some Indians and self loathing Pakistanis to try and put the origin of everything in ‘ancient India’

Stop being so insecure.
