Is our success dependent on english ?

Pardon me if I sound retard ..
But usage of English in our educational system is making things difficult for some students . Not all students can work well in english and not everyone can make up their mind to understand those new words of this language.
In our country, there are many people who have very high iq and have got a very sound mind still cannot go ahead in education if they don't have a complete grasp on english or regard education as difficult cause of new language.
Your native language affects your brain development. Western nations have the benefit that they use english in their daily life also then carry studying in the same language and also rule the world with this same language.
While it's not case with us, our mind is developed in urdu , study in Same language but then told that it's important to learn English to move ahead or to become a successful person in this earth like the famous people. In order to get a job , you need to have grasp in english that is just a injustice to those who don't know english.


Seems like your iq is not any benefit to you unless you learn English . It should be limited to a language of interaction and should not be given the state of dependency on it .

Well English is just a Language not a knowledge but on the other hand English is also necessary to gain the knowledge but not exclusively.

And its a curse in Sub continent. if you see the South East Asia, in most of the countries they learn everything in their own language, for us its not the same way.
But i do know many guys from my state Tamil Nadu who even without a good skills in English and Hindi have done exceptionally well.

See if you know the right stuff in whatever profession you're engaged with... you can do well in it

You (country not person) have to learn languages in which knowledge of science and technology is available, English is one of those major languages. We would have been much better with adopting English for national level communication than Urdu.

1. Intellect doesn't depend on the language you speak or the qualifications you have. Seen many a stupid doctor.
2. I agree in paksitan focus should be on Urdu. All thought and study should be conducted in the native tongue.
3. English essential today as Arabic was yesterday. The lead nations speak English and almost all research etc ends up being published in English. So for our engineers doctors etc to gain research places in US UK etc they need to be able to be fluent. Additionally the mindset of the westener is if you don't speak English you are inferior and we all know that's not the case
4. My first language is English and I struggle a lot in Urdu. But I try to read road signs advertising newspapers as I went to school in paksitan until class 5. I miss out on so much in terms of literature culture and even language (when people make jokes etc )

How much scientific and technical knowledge is there in local languages..... It's zero... You have to learn foreign language if you don't want to invent the wheel again. English is one of those foreign languages which can give you access to the knowledge necessary to survive in scientific age, other languages can be German, French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese even Persian. None of South Asian language can help you in this.

I have, Argument is self defeating because Urdu is not native language for majority, many students struggle to even pass Urdu subject with good marks. Forget science, it will be much difficult to digest accounting in Urdu.

I think Pakistanis only take you seriously if you speak in a foreign language preferably Gori language. Like English beauty cream. English toothpaste.

anyhow with all the foul language being promoted by the media and politician i really think its good that they have left Urdu out of it.

So like it or not, it'll continue. Just be glad that it's a language that'll open its legs to anything.

I cry a little when I see Africans and S.Asians struggling to speak a foreign language forced on them. So I do get your point.
But for India, it was necessary. Hindustani wasn't the answer. Never is. Other Indians let it have some higher place only because those who speak it are poor and it's stupid to expect them to learn more languages.
