nothing new ..it has been going on since cold war days.

Yes but the conditions have never been like where in the active government has totally been collapsed and groups are fighting to gain power. say post soviet war afghan.

cant be worse than today or worse than 1979-2001 period.

things can get ugly with no control over any of the groups. at least today the gop has pressure of international community.

.
ITBP is deployed in afghanistan at present along with BRO(border road organisation).

But they are not army........
ITBP is police force if i am not wrong

.
well that would be very hard to reach consensus. like for example india would be looking for P0K where as china will also like the same because for both it is corridor to central asia.

we already have a vast border. They can very well sneak into kashmir from that side as they are doing today.

Now you speaking for china too, please leave out china in your discussion

If we can cope with a fully armed PA on our borders for over 63 years, rest assured those fringe elements who try to attack us on IB will pale in comparison with the PA.

Many a times the Indian army was in disarray when PA launched it's attacks, this famously happened during Operation Grand Slam and Rann of Kutch Affair.

The former could have brought victory but the infamous change of command saved India and IA brilliantly moved it's direction towards Lahore.

If there is no Pakistan, there will be nothing to defend and all the Poland will be of an offensive nature.

What's the problem? We can take care of them and with US and Russia on our side, it would be a cakewalk.

Why do you think there'll be no control? In fact there'll be far more control than currently PA has on them. Think about it, with both the US and Indian armies operating inside alongwith the Russians and may be even the Chinese (for their own interests) how difficult could it be?

No, Hamid Gul scrapped the plan as he said they we will play into the hands of India if we let recognisable Afghanis or Pashtuns operate in Kashmir.

Has any Afghani or ethnic Pashtun been caught in Afghanistan famously.
yes there were afghan mujahideens fighting in kashmir as early as 1947 kabayali attack..mostly mehsuds.

ITBP is special force part of army not a police force.mostly drawn from tibetian refugees.BRO is part of army.it comes under Ministery of defence not the Home ministry.

It will be better if we not talked about history as, you know, how history is distorted in our countries when it comes to India-Pakistan wars. Let's just talk on the basis of current capabilities, shall we?

If there is no Pakistan, there will be nothing to defend and all the Focus will be of an offensive nature.

So what? We can take care of it and neutralise the threat.

I did not knew that... thanks for clarifying....

Sorry to rain on the party Bhartis but Pakistan isn't collapsing anytime soon. We have gone through much more tough times in the past but have always held our heads high and this time isn't any different.

.
letting pakistan collapse an option?? no way. ask pakistanis. they will tell you what happened when afghan collapsed under soviet occupation. all the refugees poured in numbers to pakistan & now we see the mayhem. even if they are not soley responsible, atleast they do have a part to play in the current situation.
in any part of the world instability splills over the border & does have an impact on the well being of neigbouring countries.

yes there were afghan mujahideens fighting in kashmir as early as 1947 kabayali attack..mostly mehsuds.

Mehsuds are a Pakistani tribe, many of them are in the PA, the people who invaded Kashmir were actual PA troops from the tribal belts who fought by themselves under Gen Akbar Khan and Gen Nasir Ahmed becuase Gen Gracy Jones had refused to send PA into Kashmir.

You do know that the people from tribal belt are army reserves for any requirement.

Many of them currently collaborate with PA to counter the TTP but they are under great pressure from many sides.
