Good morning is not a Christian tradition.

The thing you must realize is that Namaste is not exactly in the culture of Bangladesh and is seen very much as a religious greeting around the world.

Religious or not. You cannot force a culture to change in one day. And the key audience are Bangladeshis, not Indians.

Is Good Morning part of your tradition then but it seems you have no problem with that .To say 'Good morning' is an English tradition which was then spread through out the world by the British. If I can switch on my Troll mode its like saying BDs have no problem sucking up to former White Masters but cannot acknowledge the the heritage of South Asia.

What's wrong with a global Caliphate? What? You gonna nuke every Muslim nation out there because of that?

First Muslims should learn to respect other religions for example the 'Gomata comment' for which I made the above reply.. If a simple Namaskar can cause such a problem...I can't imagine what will be the response on much more 'serious' matters by the Caliphate. Is not true that many battles for the expansion of Islam was conducted under the previous Caliphate and many infidels lost their life in this battles. Whats the guarantee that the first agenda of an Islamic caliphate will not be the total Islamic domination of the world.

we have rich hindu bengalis here
but all the muslim bengalis in india r poor

May be you should tell them to get off their a** and get a proper educated and get a job rather than listening to half baked theories from madrassas.

Hasina believe in Hindu faith. Soon Bangladeshi will be saying vande mataram and dhooti will be the national dress of Bangladesh. This is what secular Bengali nationalism stand for, my khala jaat bhai. I am excited, very excited.

What difference will it make????.......You already have a National Anthem which is written by a HINDU(guess who!!) AND a National flag designed by a Hindu too.

SO why should we muslim Bangladeshis use an INDIAN way to greet people. :undecided:

You guys tell me, do Bangladeshis really think that they are following a truly Islamic culture????????????

they should burn their own flag because it shows influence of Hindu in bangladesh as well stop singing their national anthem.

This thread is a Slap on daydream of " Greater bangladesh "

Dude kindly tell me the difference b/n Good morning which started as a English/Christian tradition and Namaskar (I acknowledge your existence). How is the former good and the latter bad?

According to wikipedia namaste or Namoskar literally means "bow me to you" translated as "I bow to you". We muslims only bow down to Allah(swt) our creator. Bowing down to anyone else
is shirk.

When BNP-Jamat comes back to power we will be gladly kicking these bharati dalals out of the country. We may have to do a
push in into Bharati territory. Will you indians accommodate them as refuges:azn: They are
really loyal to INDIA.
when are you going to kick out your Bengali culture and Bengali language............

If you have any knowledge about your ancestry, then you'll know that, The Bengali culture has its root in Hinduism.....infact the Bengali language is derived from Sanskrit like all other Indian languages.
So, Bengali is essentially an Indian language......

The Bangladeshis are suffering from acute identity crysis........

On one hand, they are trying to hold on to a culture which is inherently Hindu......on the other they are trying to defent their adopted religion(Islam).........

A very "Hotch-Potch" situation indeed. :undecided:

Hey guys if you guys has so many issues with your Hindu namaskar....then why don't you approch your brother pakistan to fascilitate and manage your BCL?...You never know...your beloved pakistani brother could have done it for you guys for free also...becoz..you are all muslim brothers..and the initial address of the promo could be easily be in accordance with your islamic rules???
Who is the insane person in BPL organising committe who choose India's organisation to create this adv....:flame:

I never thought that there could be this much of a heated debate over how one says "Hello".

Culture is irrelevant in ISLAM where ones prime identity is muslim. We don't give a damn to any culture if it contradicts with our religious belief. That's the difference between ISLAM & other religions. What our ancestors did is none of our
concern
.Our ancestors did things like idol worship and honor killings when thay were hindus in the name of bengali culture. Does that
mean we have to copy that too?Only Parts of the culture that donot contradict with ISLAM can be followed.

Cherry Picking....

You conveniently omitted the other meanings from the same source:

As it is most commonly used, namaste is roughly equivalent to "greetings" or "good day," in English, implicitly with the connotation "to be well".

"The spirit in me respects the spirit in you," ..same meaning as 'I acknowledge your existence"

What a joke..1971 happened bcs Bangaldeshis were more Bengalis than Muslims? If you think otherwise convince your countrymen to join back to Pakistan.

Then its better to kick out the Bengali Culture and install some fully Islamic Arabic culture. I can't believe it is the same people who raised such and hue and cry when West Pakistanis wanted to install a more Islamic Urudu upon you. You should have just accepted Urudu culture rather than whining about the secular Bengali culture.

Look bro it does mean "I bow down to you" which I already said is prohibited.

In the article it clearly said "Namaste is derived from Sanskrit and is a combination of two words, "Namo Aste". "Namo" means 'bow' and "aste" means 'me to you'. Therefore, Namaste literally means "bow me to you" translated as "I bow to you". In detail, "Naman Astitva" means the recognition of one's existence by another person. In other words, when one says "Namaste" to another it means "I salute or recognize your presence or existence in society and the universe."

Namaste has many meanings including the above and what I mentioned...In my entire life I used Namaste as only an alternative to 'hello'.

BUT you guys have issue with the use of the word "Nomoskar"............

Now tell me, if saying "Nomoskar" contradicts with Islam because it has Hindu linkage....then how come you use a language which has Hindu roots...........shouldn't you have thrown out everything related to Hinduism and India when you adopted Islam.

Using one word from a particular language is UnIslamic.....but you don't have any problem in using the whole goddamn language.......what kind of logic is this????
