I think they want the condition of both side withdrawn from that area. But Chinese condition is Indian soldiers need to withdraw first instead of asking any condition.

IA is there but India is now stuck with a diplomatic problem. It cannot occupy Chinese land indefinitely and wants both sides to withdraw, but PRC is not allowing it a face saving exit. China is actually enjoying the show.
