What's new

Is India tearing itself apart?

It won't take the off duty beat constables in the border village of Assam more than 6 hrs to get a surrender from Bangladesh.

And no one in the world will care, heck no will ever know.

I think that explains how 19 BSF soldiers were killed in 2001. They just stepped into Bangladesh which then surrendered and suddenly the BSF were all dead. So thats how India intends to defeat Bangladesh .... Great plan

.
No Bangladesh cannot defeat India in an all out war but it can drain India and demoralize the country through simply just fighting back. When it is all over Bangladesh may not exist but neither will India as Pakistan would have invaded on the West and China to the North. There would be nothing left of India.

Since know you are talking about war senirio Mr. Munshi. India today in terms of defense is gearing it's equipment based on two front war (China and Pakistan). In this equations Bangledesh does not even come in Minds of the think tanks. And here you are talking about draining and demoralizing India. This is surely very childesh way of thinking, and that only results in less knowledge on your part. Before you make statements please back it up with credible links.

.
Is this a Idea behind India tearing herself apart ? 19 BSF men died in BD custody shows how BD treats BSF mens, You should really thank god that BSF did not retaliate due to heavy pressure from political parties in GOI.

Have you seen difference between them in terms of size and power can be compared to an Elephant and a Dog.

Real scholars never lose their composition you just proved yourself.

.
Indian troops would come into Bangladesh and they would be sucked into a boiling cauldron. Indian bravado doesn't count for sh*t in Bangladesh. As I stated before the Bangladesh boot is pressed against the rig cage of India. An exertion of pressure will make the Indians lungs scream out in pain.

The issue here is the insurgencies of India. The Indian PM only mentioned the communal violence but your Naxalite problem just gets bigger and bigger.

LOL, dude you're cracking me up, oh no! not the boiling cauldron of bangladesh!

wtf are you talking about? how is Bangladesh going to exert pressure on India? if you were Pakistani there would be at least some truth to that claim, but what the hell is Bangladesh capable of? You're military doctrine is purely defensive, India (I'd like to say sh*t all over, but that would just be rude) would pummel Bangladesh into submission in a matter of days, you have no military to speak of. With regard to the 'boot' although shoe is more like it, India might not be able to vaporize the landmass, but it can sure as hell vaporize everyone in it. Talking to you makes me feel like we should have let the Pakistanis to do their thing in '71 for a little longer. Go talk to someone in your military and ask them what they think about invading India or vice-versa, hopefully they can paint a more realistic picture. Truth hurts doesn't it?

About the naxalite problem, yeah its pretty bad, hopefully when things calm down a little on the western front in the coming years, as they probably will (how you would hate to see that), we can focus a little more on the N.E. maybe India can deport some of those naxalites to BD along with all your gutter dwelling brethren that scavenge for a living. I'm sure you guys would have a lot to talk about.

On a side note, while things look pretty grim for Pakistan today, one has to give them credit for keeping us on our toes at all times, while I think they're incapable of doing us any real harm without harming themselves far worse, they can certainly defend themselves and India would think twice before any overt military action. India and Pakistan have been at war and have been destabilizing each other like its their job, not to mention all the insurgencies we spawn for each other, so it makes sense for things to move a little slowly on the development side.

what excuse does Bangladesh have munshi?

you're giving Bangladesh too much credit, they're not going to divert the entire military for you guys, you're not worth it, unless its target practice, and you've conveniently forgotten that India possess nuclear weapons and has allies like Russia and even the US to an extent. so when it's over, the planet will just have one less country.

.
That is what Bangladesh did to India in 2001 when a BSF battalion entered our territory. 19 BSF were killed for only 3 BDR shahids.

There is actually nothing you can do about the boot. It is an object both immovable and permanent (unless you guys have figured on how to move an entire land mass).

if according to your logic bangladesh is a boot in india's side, india must be a sumo wrestler crushing bangladesh with a body slam.

and about the 19 BSF soldiers killed, you conveniently forgot to add up the casulaties of bangladeshi soldiers from other encounters. also killing BSF soldiers doesnt prove anything. it just shows that the BSF soldiers were ambushed. you cant always set up ambushes. besides BSF is not indian army. they dont have air, artillery or armour support.

No Bangladesh cannot defeat India in an all out war but it can drain India and demoralize the country through simply just fighting back. When it is all over Bangladesh may not exist but neither will India as Pakistan would have invaded on the West and China to the North. There would be nothing left of India.

Ok, lets think. why would pakistan and china send their soldiers to fight india if india-bangladesh war breaks out? give me one good, solid reason.

Pakistan is concentrating on WoT and Pakistani economy cannot afford a war. Plus Pakistan knows very well that bangladesh wont be enough to divert india's attention completely. add to that the fact that a lot of pakistanis dont give much of a damn for bangladeshis, and its conclusive that pakistan wont engage in direct conflict with india on bangladesh's behalf. at most, pakistan will try covertly aiding bangladesh.

Now china. Sino-indian relationship is better than ever since 1962. besides china never sends their sldiers to fight another person's war. even in 1965, 1971 and 1999 did they send their troops to aid Pakistan, a close ally of China. Now why the hell would they attack India, and risk nuclear war, over Bangladesh?

And about bangladesh themselves, If indian forces enter bangladesh, then bangladeshis maybe able to inflict casualities with guerilla warfare tactics. but what if indian troops dont enter bangladesh, but create a road, aerial and naval blockade? how long will bangladesh hold out? and bangladesh doesnt even have the resources to enter indian territory and fight.

in fact, india can pretty much destroy bnagladesh without even sending a single infantryman inside bangladesh.

net time, think carefully beofre posting crap about china coming to fight india. for a self-acclaimed scholar, your standard of thinking is clearly very depleted. open a window and get some air. let the brain cells cool before replying!

you've conveniently forgotten tOhat India possess nuclear weapons and has allies like Russia and even the US to an extent. so when it's over, the planet will just have one less country.
Get real man, and come down to earth. on one hand you guys think you can overun BD in hours but on the other hand you need a dream team to assist you..:undecided:
All this deviation from the topic started only with ur following comments:
we would have ourselves another war, and bangladesh would be on the sh*t end of it.
MBI Munshi seem to be a nationalist and gave a befitted reply with some recent reference. Which should have made you realized that any hostile scenario with BD will not be walk in the park and I hope the guys in charge in India will be thinking more rationally than you.
In fact, Pakistan bashing articles are also common in this forum
For our Indian guests it all ends with Pakistan. I wonder if you ever had dreams without any reference to Pakistan.
The glue the binds India is Democracy.
Intimidating minorities can be anything but democracy. I have no doubt that indian cinema is the bond which binds various cast of India.
Whenever you see a any picture of India do you see any army personal on the street, like China.
Classic…..no more comments.
no one in the world will care, heck no will ever know
Now we know but if no one care than only he is to be blamed not BD.

Yes, there are certain issues which forms the basis of hostile incidents and if one really wish to co-exist with neighboring countries than resolving issues will be a wise step. :agree:

forget india we are tearing ourselves apart lets deal with our own problems in pakistan first before pointing them out in others !

khanz, there are plenty of forum threads devoted to Pakitan's problems. if you don't have anything constructive to add, just keep mum.

Bhaarat is going down, and it will shatter and break into pieces, mark my words. Not today, not tomorrow but in the forseeable future.

In the end, this break up would be a good thing, which each state being able to wrestle with its own problems and find solutions at their level.

Bhaarat was never meant to be a single country, and this federation which has been imposed by foreigners is doomed to fail.

You cannot run away from your history, this country can never be united.

Ashoka of the Mauryans tried, and managed only to keep the highways clear for trade, he couldn't rule the countryside. He was so exasperated with the rebelling nature of the Bhaarat population that he foresook his conquests, appalled at the bloodshed that he had to carry out with such disappointing results, and subsequently converted to Buddhism.

The Mughal's tried and failed, creating a vicious cycle of debt and taxation, to feed the ever growing numbers of taluqdars and zemindars. A self prepetuating elite of Nawabs, maharajas, maha ranas, amirs who bled the country dry. This had to be done to appease them due to the rebellious nature of the people and the vast distances from the center, but ended up weakening their rule.

The British tried and failed miserably, running back with the tails in their legs, leaving a population that was destitute, and prone to massacring each other.

Even the Maha Bhaarat of yore only existed in a small part of the doab region (between the holy rivers of ganga and jamuna). There was never a big, great old country called Bhaarat, as the affix of Maha suggests.

So please give up this fool's gold of an idea of a great ancient nation. The differences in culture, clothes, food, language, customs, gods, traditions castes, are too vast and are actually an explosive cocktail if mixed. Handle with care, some might advise.

One must look only at the state of maharashtra and the xenophobia recently expressed their by raj thakeray and his navnirman sena. Bollywood stalwarts such as Amitabh and Jaya Bachhan are reduced to grovelling and apologising for daring to speak Hindi at a hindi film muhurat, in Bombay, Maharasthr.

The experiment of a united Bhaarat, whenever tried, has failed miserably.

The Nehruvian/Gandhian/Mountbattenian experiment is doomed to fail too.

I never said anything about india requiring assistance from a so called dream team. My reference to the US and Russia was that if in case anyone tried to take advantage of India's situation..we could always leverage our allies and make sure that nothing gets too out of hand. Russia needs us, so does the US. China has bigger and better things to worry about than antagonizing India. Pakistan has its hands full at the moment so attacking India is out of the question, so Munshi's wet dream about india being swallowed whole if we attack BD will never be realized. so frankly speaking India does not require any sort of assistance in case of a war with BD.

Further more like su-47 said, india doesn't need to set foot into BD, we can simply starve them to death, the fact that they have nothing to prevent us from doing so makes it all the more likely. Nepal will vouch for that.

Im not the one that's doing the derailing it's Munshi who posts retarded and delusional articles all day long, pretending like he's from the land of milk and honey. just look at the title of the thread..some uneducated villagers took it out on each other and he thinks the nation's falling apart.

india is held together by bollywood? are you serious? what's pakistan held together by? Islam? really?

Darkstar, as much as you would like to see india falling apart, its never going to happen. Any educated indian, no matter where he's from in india will tell you that he's indian, we are a respected and recognized power, India has an identity as a pluralistic nation, regardless of the periodic and brief **** ups, and where we're coming from we have no place to go but up. Over time when the overall standard of living in the country improves all this crap will be forgotten. You honestly believe Maharastra will try to separate from the Union? keep dreaming. the shiv sena is retarded. they just want attention and power, everyone with a brain understands this, no one really gives a crap.

India will remain united, we have so far haven't we? sh*T goes down every now and then, but remember you're talking about the most stable country in the region, we aren't going anywhere, unless you mean economically and militarily in which case its up.

How did you based this theory. Infact, i can argue and show proofs that United Bharat is grown considerably and the people have become more akin to it.

When the country is prosperous people tends to want to be part of the country. The experiment that you call it has become a power house economically, politically, and militarily in the world. Where the world recognizes as a force to deal with in the future. Know tell me how this experiment has not worked.

Proofs? Yes please? You are just another indian living in dream, sitting inside your room with computer. Go outside, look around, there are riots all over, fascists indians are killing off christians/muslims, burning them alive, you still think they want to live in India?

The rising tide of kashmir, naxalite insurrection led by Dalits and Maoists that comprises more than 40% of the landmass of the country. The open rebellion in northeast, Assam asking for independence, just recently they flew pakistani flags, seven sisters states are completelly out of the control of the government. 40% of the Indian land mass is not in the hands of the Central governement, but in the hands of Naxalites. Even for that matter, more than 560 states were forced into the union they did not want to be part of at the time of partition, most famous is hyderabad.

BBC on August 30 quoted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as saying
that
"the Maoist insurgency is the single biggest threat to India's
security."

EU says
“India is being ruled by castes, not laws”

Anti muslim, Anti christian, and crimes against dalits never stop. Sikhs cant wait to take away their punjab and are waiting for the revenge for what indians did with their golden temple. You speak about United India? Laugh over yourself. Stones and slogans keep 800,000 Indian soldiers occupied in Kashmir. So much for the “largest democracy” in the world. Behold a “demcoracy” where more than 60% of the country is in the hands of the rebels.

Why is it that even after 60 years of Independence we have no strategic allies amongst its neighbors ? India is a failed state.

Is India a Failed State? The chimera & facts of slick marketing schemes by “India Inc.”

PS: Read it all.

In a sea of affluence spreading from Luxemburg to Sydney south Asia is the only island of penury—kept down by India, that is a heavy millstone for South Asia. Unlike China India has been unable to pull herself from the bootstraps and provide decent living, food and shelter to her citizens. Marketing alone cannot gloss over the poverty stricken population of India. Bollywood may be able to hide the Indian slums by filming in Kuala Lumpur but Bollywood cannot hide the dilapidated infrastructure of India cities. By all counts, India is a failed state.

INTERNAL “INDIAN” CAVITIES: The Naxalites have a force of approximately 15,000 cadres spread across 160 districts in the states of Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal. They operate primarily in the lawless, dense forested areas of India’s interior, with some estimates saying Naxalites control approximately 10.03 million hectares (about 25 million acres) of forests nationwide. They also have an active campaign to recruit students and other youths to help spread their left-wing extremism into India’s towns and cities. Thus far, however, the Naxalites have not demonstrated the ability to operate in urban areas.

The three major threats to India are listed in all Indian security briefings

Pornywood and India Inc. cannot hide the truth about a failed state
False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.

-89 insurgencies raging all over “India”
-Kashmir: 100,000 civilians killed
-White Widows: 50, million women ostracized from society and incarcerated in temples
-East Punjab: Brutal suppression of Punjabi insurrection. Thousands killed
-Tamil Nadu and Mizuram are in flames seeking independence
-Tamil insurrection in Sri Lanka led by Tamils Terrorists in India
-Bihar: Major suppression of Biharis and problems with Bangladesh
-West Bengal in Communist hands fueling Naxalites.
-Gujrat: Serious Hindu Muslim riots perpetuated by Mr. Moodi. 3000 burned.
-200 -300 million Untouchables have little or no rights
-150 million Muslims are at the lowest rung of the ladder:
-India the only island of penury in Asia keeps the Subcontinent poor
-India has had wars with all her neighbors
-India has lowest per capita GNP in the Subcontinent
-Indian poor are poorer than Sub Saharan Africa
-More than a 1000 districts in the hands of the Naxalites
-Tamil Nadu and Mizuram secessionist movement are live and hot

INDIA AS A FAILED STATE: India is a failed state for failing to provide food shelter and clothing for her citizens. India has bloody borders. India has had wars with all her neighbors. By harping on the “failed state” mantra the bigoted Indian commentariat wants to surround “Akhand Bharat” with small Balkanized mini-states like Sikkim, Bhutan, Sri Lanka. Any hegemonous power achieves its goal in the region by sabotaging the integrity and sovereignty of the neighbors. India wants to surround itself with a “Warsaw pact” type of string of obsequies and subservient states. Pakistan is big hurdle in India’s hegemonistic policy of Westward expansion. Since the West never faced “India” in combat, they are unaware of the (South) Indian agression that was encountered by Southeast Asia (Laos, Cambodia, and even Indonesia). China and Pakistan working together have arrested the advance of the sepoys of Delhi.

UNTOUCHABLE DALITS EEK OUT A SUB HUMAN LIVING IN INDIA: Between 150 to 250 million Dalits or Untouchables live in utter sub-human conditions. A population as large as the United States lives in conditions that are below and worse off than that of Sub Saharan Africa. The dalit websites shed some light on the plight of the Dalits.

EU says
“India is being ruled by castes, not laws”-Indian state machinery supports License to kill Dalits

India: 3500-yrs of massacres of Dalit-Sudra Blacks by Arya-Brahmins
“In the Indian caste system, a Dalit, often called an untouchable, or an outcaste, is a person who according to traditional Hindu belief does not have any “varnas“. Varna refers to the Hindu belief that most humans were supposedly created from different parts of the body of the divinity Purusha. The part from which a varna was supposedly created defines a person’s social status with regard to issues such as whom they may marry and which professions they may hold.[1]Dalits fall outside the varnas system and have historically been prevented from doing any but the most menial jobs.[1] (However, a distinction must be made between lower-caste people and Pariahs.) Included are leather-workers (called chamar), carcass handlers (called mahar),poor farmers and landless laborers, night soil scavengers (called bhangior chura), street handicrafters, folk artists, street cleaners, dhobi, etc.

Traditionally, they were treated as pariahs in South Asiansociety and isolated in their own communities, to the point that even their shadows were avoided by the upper castes. Discrimination against Dalits still exists in rural areas in the private sphere, in ritual matters such as access to eating places and water sources. It has largely disappeared, however, in urban areas and in the public sphere, in rights of movement and access to schools[2]. The earliest rejection of discrimination, at least in spiritual matters, was made as far back as the Bhagavada Gita, which says that no person, no matter what, is barred from enlightenment. Even early Indian texts such as the Rig Veda discourage the abuse of outcastes. The text reads, “Indra, you lifted up the outcast who was oppressed, you have glorified the blind and the lame.” (Rg-Veda 2:13:12)[3]There are an estimated 160 million Dalits in India.[4] Wikipedia

250 million Dalits (doll-leets) , formerly called Untouchable, who have been told by the upper castes of India that they are less than human. If even a Dalit’s shadow falls on an upper caste person, that person is polluted according to caste rules. The Dalit Freedom Network partners with the Dalits in their quest for religious freedom, social justice, and human rights by mobilizing human, information, and financial resources. Take a moment and learn about the most oppressed people of all humankind.Dalit Freedom Network: Abolish Caste, Now and Forever

NAXALITE INSURRECTION: The real failed state is “India” with it’s penury stricken and poverty enveloped palliating millions sleeping on the sidewalks of its major cities. Bollywood can hide the Indian indigence with a song and dance in Paris, Singapore or Dubai but it cannot fill the hunger of the millions of starving Indian bellies in more than 1000 districts which is under the control of the Naxalites. Naxalite - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Dalits are not allowed to drink from the same wells, attend the same temples, wear shoes in the presence of an upper caste, or drink from the same cups in tea stalls,” said Smita Narula, a senior researcher with Human Rights Watch, and author of Broken People: Caste Violence Against India’s “Untouchables.” Human Rights Watch is a worldwide activist organization based in New York.

India’s Untouchables are relegated to the lowest jobs, and live in constant fear of being publicly humiliated, paraded naked, beaten, and raped with impunity by upper-caste Hindus seeking to keep them in their place. Merely walking through an upper-caste neighborhood is a life-threatening offense. National Geographic

TAMIL LAND, MIZURAM, NAGALAND INSURRECTIONS:

Nagaland secessionist movement
Tamil Nadu wants Independence from “India”
The Tamils want an independent state in Southern India and Northern Sri Lanka

50 MILLION WHITE WIDOWS INCARCERATED IN TEMPLES:

Women whose husbands die are ostracized and incarcerated in Hindu temples in rural India. Many are sold as prostitutes to earn their keep. They are not allowed to touch any normal being. Their shadow is considered a bad omen.

KHALISTAN:The Sikhs have been suppressed but still angry at what is happening to them. They will rise again. THE ROAD TO KHALISTAN

According to Amnesty International, the Indian state has sought to stifle the basic human rights of the Sikhs by creating a culture of impunity where large-scale extrajudicial killings, torture, custodial rape, use of draconian laws by state agencies are natural occurrences that go unpunished.<ref>Amnesty International, “India: Break the cycle of impunity and torture in Punjab,” January 2003. [9]. </ref>

While mass media reports claim that “normalcy” has returned to Punjab, impartial observers like Amnesty International assert that the basic human rights of the Sikhs continue to be violated by the Indian state.Amnesty International, “India: Break the cycle of impunity and torture in Punjab”, January 2003. [10]. From recent events, it appears that a demand for Khalistan persists in sections of the Sikh community. On April 14, 2004, Daljit Singh Bittu founded a new political party, the Shiromani Khalsa Dal, with “establishment of a free, sovereign, and separate Khalsa state” as its primary objective.Shiromani Khalsa Dal, “Daljit Singh Founds New Party on Idealism and Activism”, [11]. Second, on April 29, 2004, the Dal Khalsa, a Sikh nationalist organization, began a week long “Khalsa Freedom March” from the Akal Takht in Amritsar with an objective of gaining support for the idea of Khalistan by peaceful means. Sikhe News Bureau, “Khalsa March for Freedom”, [12]. A large number of gurdwāras (the Sikh houses of worship), across Punjab and in the diaspora continue to celebrate the “martyrdom” anniveraries of Sikhs who died fighting in the Khalistan freedom struggle. While fear of human rights abuses keeps sloganing in Punjab to the minimum, the Sikh organizations in the diaspora (primarily Europe, North America and Australia) continue to lobby for the secession of Khalistan from the Indian union.

Creation of the Punjab Rights Forum: In June/July 2005 following the arrests of dozens of alleged Babbar Khalsa (International) militants and sympathizers in Punjab and Delhi, a number of Punjab based pro-Khalistan political parties and organizations joined forces with a dozen odd Human Rights, Religious and Kisan groups to form a loose coalition known as the Punjab Rights Forum. PENURY STRICKEN INDIA HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE HER CITIZENS A DECENT LIVING: How poor is India? Some startling statistics have just been released by a forgotten wing of Dr Singh’s own administration, the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector. Around 80 per cent of India’s working population is in this sector. Nearly 80 per cent of this group earns less than 20 rupees a day and 85 per cent of this sub group is trapped in debt. By that usual sleight of hand we have drawn an arbitrary line to define poverty: Rs 12 a day constitutes the poverty line. This encourages the illusion that 77 per cent of India is now above the poverty line. It isn’t that much above in any case. Nor is this poverty line index-linked to inflation. Twelve rupees a day buys much less today than it did three years ago. The traditional poverty groups remain where they were: 88 per cent of Scheduled Tribes and Castes, 80 per cent of “Other Backward Classes” and 85 per cent of Muslims belong to the “poor and vulnerable” class.

M. J. Akbar is Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle newspapers. He can be reached at mjakbar@asianage.com, Column - mjakbar - Plants and Implants

POOR MUSLIMS THIRD RATE CITIZENS:Muslims constitute 25.2 per cent of the population of West Bengal, but have only 2.1 per cent of state government jobs. Kerala, which has almost the same percentage of Muslims (24.7 per cent), has given 10.4 per cent of state government jobs to the community. Assam’s ratio is similar: 30.9 per cent and 11.2 per cent. Bihar does better: it gives 7.6 per cent of state jobs to Muslims, who add up to 16.5 per cent of the population. Andhra Pradesh has the best record: 9.2 per cent of the population and 8.8 per cent of jobs. Uttar Pradesh, despite leaders who claim to be more-secular-than-thou has given only 5.1 per cent of state government jobs to an 18.5 per cent population. The situation is no better when it comes to health and education indices.

THE MAOISTS: The North East India comprises of the seven sister states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. They form part of the East Himalayan region which extends from Sikkim eastwards and embraces the Darjeeling Hills of West Bengal. This swate of land is up in arms.

THE IT BOOM: The IT boom affects about 6 million Indians. The rest are schackled as indentured servants, caste prisons, or communal restrictions.

KASHMIR: Kashmir wants her liberation from India and will continue her struggle.

A fake piece of paper with wrong dates, crossed out words, and incorrect sequence of events fooled no one.

IMPEDIMENTS TO INDIA AS GLOBAL POWER:Unless there is a drastic change in India thinking and policies, there is not a snowballs chance in hell of this happening. Madison Avenue along with the Italian lady have taken Sing and company on a ride called “Roman Holiday.” One day India will find out that a tango with Uncle Sam may result in the total Balkanization of the country back to pre-British times when there were more than 500 states.

--
India is a failed state like by any world standards.

. .
The weakest part of India is its chicken neck. Even in a limited war with India if Bangladesh can disrupt communications with India's North East then your countries in a sh*t load of trouble. There are 140 Muslims in Bangladesh how long do you think you can keep this population subdued during a war. Hell America cannot keep Afghanistan with its 20 million people quite even with superior fire power. What the world does not need is an arrogant and expansionist India. A simple equation.

SA - I = P

SA stands for South Asia. I for India and P is peace.

SA + C = Pr

C here stands for China and Pr means prosperity. India does not offer SA prosperity but conflict and instability.

As for the BSF soldiers that intruded into Bangladesh they were not killed in custody. They were killed in a straight fight. I do agree that BDR have been killed but always at a distance and unprovoked. In other words, the Indians behaved like cowards shooting their victims in the backs.
