Tejas will be there. And partner that is selected may also be required to help develop Tejas further.

We need replacement for both Mig 21 and Mig 27. Tejas is for Mig 21. The new one is for Mig 27.
u wont get f35 for less than 350 million$Lockheed Martin apparently made the presentation to India after authorization by the US Department of Defense (DOD), but Prins pointed out that the F 35 could be sold only after clearance from the US State Department, for which bilateral negotiations between New Delhi and Washington would need to be held once India expressed interest.
F-35A reported per unit cost is 98$ million with additional funds required for weapons ,spares and training support . Defence analyst close to idrw.org do not believe Lockheed Martin will offer Transfer of Technology (TOT) nor will agree to Make it in India , most likely it will offer to establish local supply chain in India for its maintenance and components but it is unlikely to see any interest in India’s Defence ministry
Will USA provide engine ToT with F-16 or Gripen?I doubt so.WIthout engine tech, there is no point buying them.Private sector should be allowed to set up production lines for LCA,HAL is too slow
I know that. That's why i said replacement. The replaced aircraft would play the same role now and in future as Mig 21 played in 1970s and 1980s.Tejas are more advanced than Mig 21.
Even the LCA uses an US engine, it's one of the factors causing the Gripen to potentially shoot up the offer stakes because it could share the same engine & may well help with the LCA as opposed to the F16.

India wouldn't get F35 because of their close relations to Russia.
Anyway, U.S couldn't supply them in the close decade anyway so..
One month back Sweden have signed agreements with NATO. So when we are having more relations with United states, its better to buy from them .
its a 500 billion project not a experiment.there are delays but not any doubt about its inductionF35 is speculation. Even USAF is yet to induct them.
F35 is more of a possibility for IAC2. Now no chance in this deal.
The problem is Tejas is yet to get the full thumbs up from IAF. MoD wants IAF to have Tejas, but IAF is not ready yet to make Tejas the backbone of IAF.
