That’s exactly what may well be happening, if one takes a look at the poster above (that was publicly showcased by HAL during the DEFEXPO 2012 expo last April in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan), which clearly shows the unarmed version of the Predator UAS along with the Searcher Mk2 and Heron-1 UAS. And since none of the three armed services of India are known to be operating the Predator, then the only other possible operator is the Aviation Research Center of the Union Cabinet Secretariat’s Research & Analysis Wing (R & AW).

Shown below are photos of an unarmed Predator UAS that was on display at an aerospace and defence expo in South Africa earlier this year.

TRISHUL: Is HAL Involved In MRO Activities Related To Predator UAS?

. .
I wonder who is exploding those drone missile in Pakistan? :what:

. . .
Yes ARC operates an unknown number of Predators for a variety of roles.

US sold us those Predators long ago.

.
What happened to this link? Is ARC really operating predator.

Well all I mean by "that" link was "already posted"

Can you point me to some links on PREDATORs sold to India ??? It's really hard for me to belive that US had sold us something like that when our relations where not as good as today.

If ARC bought it, it will never be in news. They buy so many surveillance equipment and sure it never comes to media.

You can ask Prasun K Sengupta himself on his blog link in the OP. He's the only one with the
insider info that US sold Predators for ARC, and HAL has developed depot-level maintenance
facilities for such UAS ac.

You didn't get what I mean dude ;)
That link wasn't anything else but a PDF thread already posted.

Not arguing about ARC bought it or not. It will worth a whole new thread for that

Thats not true, look at the Bombardier Global-5000E fitted with Israeli surveillance equipment.
That was a big-bang show, although they bought it under guise of an IAF VIP transport jet...and
anyway, Predator coming into ARC is old, but the news about this coming out is new.

It's kinda hard to belive my friend.

"The only one with insider info" has many conclusions. And don't want to comment on Sengupta's Super cool links in super organisations ;) FYI anyone with that secrete info on his hand will never dare to public it for obvious reasons.

USA hadn't sell us any of duel use tech in past. We were under tech embargo till last 2 year if I am not wrong. Till 9/11 Pak interests were more important than Indian interests for USA? They didn't give a dam about terrorism and problems India face. Terrorist become evil only after 9/11 before that they were freedom fighters. and how in the world US sell us it's top notch servilience tech of that time ???

.
This is the only news i found, which says India might be a customer.

US mulling sale of armed Predator drones to allies including India

Rustom is similar to predator.

No. Article says India might be a customer in FUTURE if certain laws removed or redefined. and article is from 2011 itself. So clearly NO NO for past

As I said before if we had our hands on that tech Rustom would have been in service and NOT in development stage till today.
And as you are saying Rustom is copy then it would have been a violation of IP and further sells to india would have been stopped.

I never said Rustom is a copy...but it does the job similar to predator.
