Is china really want friendship(good relation)with india

As I said how efficient of your propose energy road? China-central Asia pipe is direct without any transition...the bottom line is cost & time saving. China India trade is just a fraction of the trade we have with other nations, we don't deny that is important but not to a point to become strategic.

Only a true peace between China-India and India-Pakistan will provide India a true road to access to resource rich central asia nations and not only that India can creat a north south silk road connection south Asia-central-Asia-Europe as ancient time.

who needs central asian oil when vietname gave us blocks a sniff away from hainan ;)

. . .
We are in no position to counter the Chinese ecomonic juggernaut. If China gets more access to our markets, out domestic industries will fail. THat being said can be a good and bad thing. Only strong business with a strong plan will survive. Sure sounds great on paper but the reality is that Chinese corporations are all related to the State, thus they enjoy a support like no other. We have already seen how they will lower prices to a point where they are making losses just to get rid of the Indian competition and then raise their prices with no competition.

The bigger problem is that with more Chinese influence on our economy, India must not allow at all costs the way China has gained a lot of control on US bonds. All this economic influence will have a considerable effect on our ability to function freely.

See no country likes to see another country catch up or take over it in terms of economy or military power.

USA always had problems with USSR. Now US is having problems with China and doesnt like it too much. USA would do anything possible in its bag to bring down the Chinese and prevent them from matching USA (let alone takeover USA).

Similarly China is no different. India is challenging and looking to equal and then overtake China. There should be no doubt that China would always try to do things possible within its means to bring down India (counting on trade to make China give up plotting against India is foolish).

But the onus of being able to protect its interests and economy and security lies on the country itself - on China (in case of US) and on India (in case of China).

It is in this context that it depends a lot on India on how to keep China at bay (by improving defense, and by forming strategic friends and using deft diplomacy). But never depend or think China would give up its efforts and would not use an opportunity if presented to bring down India. it is India which needs to ensure that China doesn't ever get any such opportunity which it can use to harm India PERMANENTLY or for LONG TERM with no or very little consequences for China.

The same applies to India also with respect to China. India too wont give up an opportunity if presented to bring down China with little consequences for India. (and why? because India knows China is also doing same thing to India).

Growing trade is just your own interest as it improves your economy and obviously any chance to improve the economy should be lapped up by any country. This is exactly why you see huge trade between US/China and India/China even though they are strategic rivals.

Exactly. India in needs to develop like no other. We need to stop comparing to other;s development and have a frame of mind where we wish to the best! Without thinking like that, we will never achieve greatness.

We will need to import goods from China until we won't have a strong manufacturing base in India and we will need one or two decade to achieve that.

Yeah I saw that before. But its more complicated than that. I believe there are ways to get around this. If it wasn't a concern, our NSA would not be concerned about our neighborhood being infiltrated by Chinese Telecoms. Also, Big business in India is pushing for Huawei, ZTE to be allowed. As we have seen elsewhere in the world, ther sole motivation is profit above all else. Ask yourself, if source codes could be given to India then why wasn;t it given to the US? Why did the US stop them from gaining market share? China has gained market share in other areas. There must be a threat that me or you fully see nor understand. These countries have bette resources and tech, Im sure they can manufacture devices or software that can be added or activated later under disguise while it does harm.

Yeah I'm sure we will. But we should spread that wealth to nations friendly to us instead of enriching questionable nations. As for manufacturing base, we need to accelearate that with a 10 yr timeline. At the same time, focus on 3D manufacturing. Our Software industry will benefit from it and even assist this type of manufacturing.

Good relation with Pakistan that never gonna happen. In Pakistan many people openly argue that since they separated from India, why are they getting again closer to Indian by increasing trade. :cheesy:

Chabahar Port is very close to our west coast, since we are investing there because we are not going to make any loss. Central Asia is the future energy hub. Even it will make China traverse same distance for bringing gas of Central Asia to far away to Shanghai or Beijing.

No doubt about it, in real politik, talk nice to improve friendship is just smoke screen, the realy back scene decision is about "interest", we're looking forward to compete with India.

Yes India needs to just focus on its economy, and keep enough to deter any military attack. The focus should be on defending. If India is able to do these two things everything will be fine and India would rise.

A healthy competition is good for Industry and region and it keeps you fit. :D

Pakistan is on strategic cross road that India need to central Asia: before seperation, India could access freely to central Asia by ancient silk road but you're not longer able to do that, same for China if we want to access Arabian sea or middle east we need Pakistan. That's why India is so sensitve that China construct road, rail in Pakistan section of Kashmire this will allow us go directly to Gwada port.

As for the central Asia transportation, indeed we have extreme long pipe to china east coast but we also have Russia short pipe from north and ship transportation from Latino countries, we diversify ourself not to depend a single supplier.

@KRAIT can we have your opinion here
See one thing about China is that they want constant growth to reduce the gap between them and US. For that, they have to keep their tensions with India low and put border disputes on back burner. They are already ahead of India and they don't see India as competitor but as a good market.

They want more trade with India and by 2015 they want it to reach around $ 100 billion. India should welcome it but at the same time shouldn't just give in everything. If China is a great trade partner, ASEAN is our future market.

US want strategic partnership but if we want US to be held on toes while dealing with us, we should have good relation with China.

So China want good relationship with India but for them Pakistan is their strategic partner and they haven't taken both nations in single equation.
